VN - Ren'Py - Abandoned - Patter [Ch 2 Part 1] [Kalloway]

I reviewed this at ch.2 part 1.

This review - certainly - is biased on my preference.

Goddamn I thought I am done with plot focused VN's, and then I found this.
Very solid plot, the writer sure did some research - to say the least - about hypnotherapy. This, combined with the option to guide MC to go full-fledged professional hypnotherapist has enlightened me.

The graphic - well it is Koikatsu model being used as is obvious. Good enough, but not the best.

No voice actor.

You are playing this just for the mix of feelings you are certainly going to experience.

The plot is pretty clear, the graphics are nice enough, the dialogue and character behaviors are pretty brisk and natural, and the characters have good chemistry with each other. While the plot isn't the deepest, and the humor isn't the best I've ever encountered, there is a consistent quality and pace which keeps me engaged instead of eventually tuning out like a number of other VNs do. There are new locations and situations consistently being added, and I get to make choices often enough that I feel involved with what is going on.

If the description appeals to you, give the game a try, and just play it how you like. There doesn't seem to be fixed paths you need to hold to in order to avoid game overs or unwinnable situations like similar VNs have had (at least so far in my experience), so just choose what you will and have fun.

It’s an excellent game with great characters. I finished it all in about one and a half hours and I think I’ll play it again with different choices, because I regret what I did with the girls. I strip them out of their free will, and I feel bad of it. I mean, it’s a hypnosis porn game… how can it make me feel bad for abusing them? Well, it does, and I want to try it in a different way. So, let’s try what happens with a little bit less of hypnosis?

I've only tried the vanilla route so far, but I really enjoyed it!

The dialogue gave me a few chuckles and the interactions between the characters were pretty sweet overall.

I'm not particularly interested in the mind control theme overall, but with the vanilla route, it felt like you were actually trying to help everyone, so it didn't really bother me.

The scene animations were pretty good in my opinion, but they were only for one of the characters in the vanilla route, which makes sense. I'll probably skip through the other routes later to see what I missed, if anything.

I think the game was only at Ch1 as of this review, so it wasn't too long, and things might change, but looking forward to seeing more so far.

What can I expect more? Absolutely recommended to play. Not to say about the emphasis on mind control, but I like how the humour mixes well with the plot. Characters really leave me a deep impression even though I just played over once, which fantasized me with playing more. Sheesh just play lol.

Just finished Chapter One and I'm quite impressed!
The writing is great (I'm a sucker for a well written story) and the humour is top notch! The girls are cute, too, which helps!
I anxiously await Chapter Two to see what happens to Lydia in the hospital (cliff-hangers are NOT cool, dude!)

Just a solid borderline kinetic novel. Usually with games featuring this kind of power you either:

A: Grind tediously until you can +1 your targets even though the entire appeal is to just go 'lol magic you want to fuck me haha'.
B: Have weird limits on how you can use your power for no apparent reason, with the limits on what you can do feeling entirely arbitary and often changing from scene to scene.
C: Both.
D: Its basically an NPC sex game because you just fuck everyone the instant you speak to them.

But this is a linear novel. There is no grinding. There is choice. Hypno chick, don't. Hypno normally, make them enjoy making you happy. Not sure how much this changes the story. But if you want to just play the latter choices every time, it works fine. MC never randomly can't perform, but he also doesn't just meet a girl and go 'your 're my slave lol'. It feels logical. He starts small, then slightly less small, then bigger.

It gives you the power fantasy of mind control, while still feeling like you are playing an actual person.

Gets some bonus points for, so far, lack of annoying 'anime' writing. Everyone feels like a reasonable person. Maybe too reasonable (ie purple girl not even minding you spying on her).

Its basically version 1 and its already better than the majority of koitatsu asset flips on this site.
Wait to see how future content is before giving 5/5 though

Truly an excellent start. The premise alone was enough to get me interested even though I'm not big on hypnotism, and the whole thing is handled very well.

The characters are all really well-written and fleshed out, I love the inside jokes and the banter. Not much to say about the plot as of yet (Ch.1), but I quite like the self-awareness and meta humor. I like the humor in general, truth be told.

The renders are great, better than usual from these more anime-style games, at least in my opinion. The girls are all unique and recognizable and the animations are good.

All in all, this a very strong first release and I'm eager to see where it leads.

Chapter 1

This was surprisingly good.

While the animations were just a wee bit framey the rest was great.

I enjoyed the art. The dialogue was mostly normal feeling, if a bit too much humor from all characters. Miles better than a lot of VNs out there.
I only skipped some parts of conversation that were obviously unimportant.

I found myself caring just the slightest bit about the characters and their problems. Fixing themfelt good, and of course the rewards were good.

Now I just need... 10 times more content. xD

This game is really good and has a lot of potential. It has great characters and interactions with them. I would say the downside is that the animations have low frames but other than that it's been really enjoyable.

Very fun game so far (and quite a packed first release), the scenes are well animated and the dialogue is pretty quirky too.

The only thing that is a bit downer is the complete lack of music (though i'm assuming this will be fixed in later releases).

I'd recommend it so far to anyone that likes the Hypnosis genre.

An excellent game! The dialog in the game is very well written, it flows and is in character. The plot in the game is interesting and unique. The characters look good and are well written to have distinct personalities and unique stories. The dev seems to be very multi-talented to be able to do all the aspects of the game well. Definitely looking forward to seeing this game develop further. I wish the dev the best of luck.

Pretty great for a first release! Writing is funny and flows well, barring a few spelling mistakes, and I especially love (and am deeply envious of) the relationship the MC has with his girlfriend. Actually, I liked the characters enough that I couldn't bring myself to use any of the more nefarious hypnosis options.
In total, I dig it and will definitely be supporting. I want more!

I really enjoyed this game
The comedy matches my humour and the storyline is fun. In general I hate cliffhangers, like how the first chapter has ended (although I do understand the narrative use of them), but I think that the way it ended is effective and a logical place to end the chapter.
I am excited for future releases of this.
