PC stuck after opening or using games

I believe my PC has contracted a virus or malware from one of the games downloaded here.

First happened while trying the latest 1.0 My summer with mom and sis, after transferring my saves and starting to play game freezes at some stage during the game (can happen at loading screen or while playing, it's random). Trying to close the game (or anything else for that matter) does nothing. Also can't open task manager or any other file, nothing happens while I click it. (might worth to mention that this didn't happen in previous versions of the game).

Today I tried using Farmer's dreams that uses the same game engine (I am unfamiliar with its name, but it is used for most games e.g. My sister Mia, Peasant's quest, Visiting aunt Sara etc) and the same thing happened again: game froze while playing followed by PC slowing down to a stop, with nothing to do besides a hard reset.

For now I've only noticed this happening with this game engine and not others. Tried scanning with Avast premium and Malwarebytes premium but it didn't help.

Has anyone encountered similar issues or is able to recommend what to do next?

You probably need to install the latest Run Time Packages (RTP) for whichever version of RPGM you are using.

Install Speccy to have a look at your pc temperatures. My educated guess is an overheating CPU because RPGmaker MV is poorly programmed.

Desktop, i5 6500 3.2 GHz CPU, 8 GB DDR3 RAM, GeForce GTX 560 Ti GPU, Windows 10 OS
GPU is a little old but not too old to run this.. Also I used to run this game engine for months and it suddenly just happened like 2 weeks ago..

Open your task manager and see if anything is elevated. If not launch the game and look at your task manager and see i any of the values of the cpu / memory / disk rise to high values. If yes let us know what they are, if not... do the same.

I get this while pressing Details a lot of Game.exe open (Image below), there were more that took more memory but End process removed them. The ones that were left I couldn't get rid of it kept saying access denied.

Also just wanted to say I usually am able to move the mouse and windows to some extent after game freezes, but can't do anything else like open or close new applications, access task manager (have to open it before using it), or click Reboot from Windows bar or Alt+F4.

Okay, I'm no computer whiz, but here are a few solutions that I hope may be of use. Use in conjunction or on their own:

• Are auto-updates on for Steam/whatever? Uninstall MV completely, deleting all folders and such related to it. (Documents, etc. too) Use Glary Utilities and such to clean the register. Then reïnstall it and (importantly) re-download the games you want to play. Due to the sheer number of patches since release the program isn't that stable and... welp, running games might give issues therefore.
• Whitelist the folders in which you park the games you want to play INSIDE your anti-malware and anti-virus software. NB: Never the Downloads folder. Just be sure to scan games extensively before playing and make triply sure you don't have basic ass free antivirus software. Yeah, paid it costs the same as a game usually, but better one less game per year than having to fund a new gaming pc.
• Use Glary Utilities or AVG Cleaner or whatever to check your registry. Sometimes these things are that simple to solve. Also check RAM usage and shut down unneeded programs.
• De-dust your pc's inner workings. Can of pressurised air or a handy air compressor should work wonders. Also, check if everything is screwed in tight/connected/etc.
• Run as administrator. Right-click the game .exe and select this option.
• Get new RAM components. Either get a whole set of new ones, or (if the pc isn't older than say a year) matching ones for the current 8gb. Sometimes the whole workload is a bit too much since MV nabs more reserved space in RAM than needed.
• Get a professional to check the pc. Costly, but less than the option below.
• Get a new gaming pc. Not one off the shelf at say Cool Blue, but one built to your desires at a specialised company such as say GamePC. Shelfwarmers have subpar components and cost you more effectively since they have (useless) extra's and less RAM on average.

Now then, I hope these help. Let me know if they work.

Two things that are concerning - 1) assuming you're logged in with an administrator account, when you cannot end a process, something is wrong. The usual suspects are malware. 2) Why are your MS Outlook processes suspended? Did you do this? If you didn't do this on purpose, the usual suspects are malware.

What you're describing with the game could also be a driver hanging the system, but that wouldn't explain the two things above.

+1 to this. There will be a box center-middle that should have "Critical" at the top. Click on that and tell us what's there. If nothing, look at "Errors" and do the same.

FYI - You have more than enough hardware and system resources to run RPGM games without an issue - you don't need a new PC; please don't use a registry cleaner unless you know what you're doing - they can fuck your PC and rarely have any benefit; please don't go poking around tightening things in your PC unless you know what you're doing; there are programs to test your hardware components, please don't buy any new hardware (especially RAM which is very easy to test thoroughly) until you know what the problem is, unless you have nothing better to do with your money.

And I say this as respectfully as possible, but anyone that thinks you have to buy a new PC because of a virus doesn't understand even at a basic level how a PC works, and regardless of their good intentions or disclaimers should not be giving anyone advice on how to fix PC problems.
