Because it is. Giving up is the simplest thing in the world and a way to escape.
I'd argue it's simpler to never doing anything and then talking about how giving up is the easiest thing in the world.
That's basically the same as just giving up but without ever even having the decency of putting up any effort.

So...
Is there any game you would like to see made? And why haven't you made it yet?
Why did you just give up the moment you thought of that idea. You quitting at the start, bro?
Pull yourself up by the bootstraps and put some effort into it.

Thanks for that. And yes, it was a fairly difficult decision. But think about what kind of game & story this is. I can't talk to my friends and family IRL about this kind of hobby, and when I really sit back and reflect on what kind of story it is, it's not something I can be proud of. Sitting at home, alone, for hours each day to make a game where some dude is trying to fuck his family lol. I hope you all can understand that at first it was fun, but eventually it just got lonely.
If that is the case, I would've just changed out the roles of the people involved, instead of it being MC's family it could be the family of his best friend (e.g: He's friends with the 'sister' and it becomes a deeper connection)
This wouldn't be a massive change and since the MC does look a bit different than the other characters it wouldn't be a massive shock or require much effort to do.

But being an AVN dev isn't going to be something you can really talk about to family and IRL-friends
(mostly why AVN devs talk to other AVN devs or build up a community so that stuff can be talked about more openly)

Subscribestar won't activate my account and I'm not sure what's going on with Patreon. All good either way, I don't really expect to make money from this.
Thanks! Happy new year to you as well! And it is a hobby, I wanted to make something that actually had a story and relatable characters compared to most of the slop found on this site, but it seems like nobody's interested. :ROFLMAO: Having only 2 reviews after 2 months isn't enough interaction to warrant my continued time investment into the project, I hope that makes sense. I was honestly expecting it to get more traffic than it has, but alas. Maybe I'll continue it in the future, but we'll see.
You mad bro? There are many reasons I'm abandoning it, most of which are too personal to share with you guys. No need to get mad about it lol.
Certainly sounds personal, like a personal failure. Never heard of this game before, probably never will hear of it again. Congratulations on being a blip on the radar and ragequitting when you couldn't monetize the cummies, because it sounds like you wanted the low effort ICSTOR route that hasn't existed since 2017.

A game featuring non-optional gay content...and here you are, DelMe Holmes, thinking it's gotta be an incest game money grab from the past. Certainly one of the thoughts of all times.
I hope you don't help your neighbors finding their cats.

If you're not in a country where you can easily talk about doing something like this, that's understandable. Some devs have uprooted their whole lives to move to develop games, depending on where they're from.

If it's just your family/area that's conservative, well that's a different issue. It'd be difficult to find people IRL to talk to about this, but a lot of devs start a discord, and you tend to get a more friendly/appreciative crowd there that have similar interests to you if you don't mind online-only communication.

If you don't want to spend the time it takes to work on this stuff alone without explaining to people what you're doing, then that's more difficult than all of the above, and godspeed on your future endeavors.

He got caught and he had to choose between this game and free rent. Just my 2 cents.

Not being able to talk to your family about the pansexual smut game you're making should be a front loaded idea when preparing to make such a game.

If you wanna talk starting a discord is free but, I get why you might not want to grow a community of like minded people.
