Ren'Py - Photo Hunt [v0.18.1 Extra] [Moochie]

(v 0.10.3a) Not sure that my review is well qualified because I've played just a few hours, and then stopped, feeling a bit bored.

I can't point at something in particular and say that it's really bad. However the experience did not keep me very well entertained:

The girls aren't very sexy.
There was nothing really erotic in the first few hours of play.
All the progress for now was getting friendly talks with the two of the girls (and less friendly with a few more).
Talking was like just clicking through all the menu options, almost all done during the first meetings with them.
I would prefer if the story would develop in a deeper, consecutive manner.
Skills are boosted easily by buyng items at the pawn shop; and no idea what numbers of skills I would need and what for exactly. (Except that I couldn't make some sneaky photos without certain sneaking skill).

Conclusion: the progression of the story and of the relationships isn't really smooth or entertaining; skills and game mechanics mostly aren't clear.

The interface is good though.

Maybe I will continue to play this game later, and then I would update the review.

Awesome Sandbox Game. The characters and art style are really hot. The story, text, and character lines are extremely engaging and sexy. Sex scene feel earned. The build up to the sex scenes are just perfect.

There is a lot to love about this game. The models are fantastic, the scenes are great, and I also quite enjoy the story. I just have one major complaint, and it's the same issue I have with a lot of porn VNs. That is, the absolutely glacial pace to actually get to the sex scenes. I appreciate making the player work for it, and taking your time to deliver a good story, but man, when it takes roughly 9 hours to get a penis into a vagina, that makes it pretty difficult to stay interested for this type of game.

I don't mean to be too negative, it is a really good game overall. Keep up the great work.

As for me, it's the best game I ever played I played in like 500 renpy games no one was as good as this one XD animation, quality, dialogues everything in this game is more than perfect I can't wait for updates and in future your new games this one is really brilliant

Has a nice slow brun, that isn't too slow, and the progression suits the characters.

interesting story, and optional routes are quite enjoyable, and the humor is good.

As for gameplay, it isn't too buggy, and is pretty straight forward once you understand it. (be sure to check the mobile for tips and messages if you get stuck).

-Weird looking girls.If one or two i can accept it,But most of them have weird eyes.
-Complicated Walkthrough,you cant see the effect with the girls unless you proceed some of the girls storyline first.

- A lot of click and grinding.You need to grind money and stat to proceed character story.
-Limited time a day.Only 4 task you can do in 1 day.1 day have morning,afternoon.evening and night.Then again its acceptable because you need to grind 4 stat in 1 day.

Not for me,tbh.Also with a complicated wt and link with each character story to open route and scene/reaction.I play it only halfway through,then i delete it.If you are okay with grinding and you like sluts as your love interest,this will be your game.

Ok so here we have one of the best games I have tried! And God ! THANK GOD ! Finally a game where the characters do not have abnormally large breasts, or clothes that stick to the skin! The characters, the background, the lights, everything is almost perfect.

The characters all have their own personalities, their own stories, and that makes the game much more alive. And the storyline is not limited to "HUR DURR I WANNA FUCK - LET'S FUCK"

As for the gameplay, it's a bit long for farming, but with the cheat mod, the game is a real delight.

To make it short.

Pros.
The art is the best i see around, by far, i am writing this as a CG artist, the anatomy is very well done, no strange donut butt, no strange boobs, the skin have the correct amount of details on the maps, and the channels are well done, the lighting is great in most scenes, but even if the light is not great, the shader make for it and the scene becomes nice, there is a attention to details.

The characters can be a little strange at first, because they have a unique look, take sometime to adjust the view to it, but once this is done, the girls looks good.

The game put lots of mechanics, stats, almost like a rpg, i think this is good, but will be a con too.
The history have a nice base, taking pictures, this is nice, different, i like it, give some voyer feel that could be explored much more, the history is different from the same "i have a huge dong and i go to X place to fuck everyone".

Cons.
The art is so great that you almost forget about the gameplay.
The gameplay is not the best... you have to grind and grind the stats, money everything... i think this takes away the focus of the game, that is the pictures, a nice original idea that is taken away because you need to find a way to increase some stats... I am sure this could be solved.

The history... I am not a fan of this incest stuff, could make this a choice or something, but even so, i think the dialogue is boring, too long some times, without good information, and because of that, when i play it, i had to go back to read some stuff that i just skip, there is too many lines that don´t add nothing to the history, i really don´t feel the need to read the lines, most just look a waste of time.

I like most of the plots, but i just don´t had the incentive to read everything...

The player stats could be a huge yes here, but i think the game needs to improve that, the grind kills it... you need sneaking skill to take pictures of your sister sleeping, ok... but if you have 20 or 200 nothing changes, and you don´t improve your sneaking because you manage to take the picture, if the developer wants to put all this stats in the game, they should use it better.

Considering all this, the game looks amazing, the best i see, just hope the gameplay will improve later.

Photo hunt is an all original story about a young man who recently moved in with his mother and sister and tried to start off his new life strong though the lense of a camera. Once that goes wrong your forced to try and rebuild your reputation and win over all those whom you offered.
This game has many unquie characters, each with their own personalities and struggles. As you get to know them all, you are offered different paths you can help guide them down.
This game has it's own unquie style and characters that makes it a breath of fresh air in the sea of cloned models. Each one isn't someone I've seen anywhere else and come to life with a verity of facial expressions not generally used.

Story ***** 5 Stars: taken place in situations that are believable and following a path that is unquie for each characters story arcs gives this VN a very rich Story with a ton of replay value. 2 paths per a character and several paths may overlap gives you plenty to enjoy.

Characters ***** 5 Stars: all Unquie and with their own personality. Learning more about each character down each of their respective paths is enjoyable and rewarding.

Renders ***** 5 Stars: since Photo Hunt is trying to capture its own style and appeal the renders are all top notch in its unquie style. It's not a clone of anything else I've seen making the renders truly special.

Animations ***** 5 Stars: Not much different than with the renders for comments.

Character Development: ***** 5 Stars: Each relationship has it's own Arc building and bonding between MC and the Love Interests. This creates a ton of development and growth for not only the MC but his muses as well. It's nicely done.

Overall Score ***** 5 Stars: I can only hope the development of this game continues because it has had an impact on me as far as VNs go. I've only ever replayed one other VN as many times as I have replayed Photo Hunt. Highly recommend this game.

Easily one of the better sandbox experiences I've played. I still don't think I managed to find everything! There is a little bit of a grind, but it wouldn't feel right just being handed the content right away + it's easy once you figure out how to play properly.

10/10 renders + loving the animations. I can't imagine the amount of work/time that has to be put into it to create this. I can't wait to see how the stories continue as this project develops further!

Review:
It's a game with a unique visual, with good renders of the girls and good sexuality between them.
History:
A good part of the story I started to lose interest, so, I started not to follow the dialogues anymore. Anyway, I didn't think the story very interesting, something that makes you arrest or be curious. But that does not mean that it is bad, maybe it is the fact of not wasting time because the game has a lot of grind.
Gameplay:
Photo Hunt's gameplay isn't one of the best, but it's also not too bad. Basically, I thought it a little badly organized, because the way of playing is a little tiring. You will appropriately have to do 4 acts per day, in the morning you talk to the MC’s mother or the MC’s sister, then come in for the afternoon, and so on… I don’t really like this type of gameplay, I prefer something that you can interact with everyone and then skip the time.
Another thing is that the gameplay has a lot of grind and it ends up getting tiring to keep playing, I particularly gave up on it.
Graphics & Sexual Content:
The graphics are very unique, I thought them very well rendered and I really liked them. The sex scenes are good, but I realized that there are not many scenes for some certain characters. In this, I felt that something was missing, because you grind so much and it arrives at the time of the reward you end up being a little disappointed. Overall, the game has satisfying scenes, but it's something that you feel you could have more and better.

So, why I did gave 2 stars?
The game is good, it looks very promising. But unfortunately I didn't enjoy the story very much, it didn't arrest or captivate me a lot. The gameplay I didn't like very much, because I saw that it takes a lot of your time to progress because of the grinding, you need to interact with the girls slowly, because the gameplay is like this, interact each time and not in a single time and spend the time and go to the next process. Anyway, unfortunately I gave it a 2 star rating, maybe it is unfair, but as the renders are great and I liked it, the game was not what I expected it to be. So, I think it could be better and I hope that in the future it will happen. But, I didn't feel what every porn game has, which is slutty.

the renders look original, probably a lot of work has gone into them, but when most of the female characters are either average looking or plain repulsive, originality alone doesn't count for much. ironically the two most attractive girls in the game, skylar and grace, have not even been properly integrated into the story after 1.5 years of development. the writing is ok but nothing special and sometimes the dialogs or inner monologs drag on unnecessarily. the dialogs with the sister in the geisha club were close to unbearable at times (it was also ridiculous that she wouldn't recognize her own bother despite the mask). same with the exchanges with jennifer, who in any case is an incredibly boring and cliche character. humor was present and probably the only above average aspect of the game. music is repetitive and annoying, so i had to turn it off. there are no sound effects and that's a big minus, especially for an ambitious game like this. what all in all bothered me most though, is the assumption of the dev that everybody is willing and happy to play his game repeeatedly from scratch to see all of the content available. while it may be true for some players, missing out on a lot of stuff because you have chosen one path and not the other(s), is not a great prospect for some like me. the best games out there are still the more or less linear ones, which don't punish you for your choices in the form of locking you out of a lot of content. despite the obvious effort put into everything, this was a fairly disappointing experience for me.

The main selling points for this game are: lots of content, frequent updates to the game, great renders, unique character models and the quality of the animations. It's also great that the dev added a scene gallery in 0.9; prior to that I had to save at lewd scenes and important story cross-roads in the game, leading to a convoluted save menu. At some points I found the grinding to be rather tedious, but this was softened by the intertwining of some grinding mechanics with nsfw content: you earn money with (eventually quite lewd) photoshoots.

All in all, I'd recommend this game both because of the quality and the quantity of content in this game.

This is a rather peculiar game and I'll skip right to the pros and cons.

Pros:
1) Good grammar
2) Story not so bad
3) Visuals are quite good (not counting the faces on the characters)
4) Music is relaxing in some way (sounds very familiar)







Cons:
1) Models look very weird and creepy especially with their eyes.Also it gives me the impression that some of them are way underage which is disturbing .
2) Grinding...Yup.Grinding in an adult game.Not huge like in some other games but it's definitely there and it will slowly eat you alive (metaphorically )

Conclusion:Not one of the best,but not one of the worst.However I don't recommend it unless you enjoy grinding.
