Have you updated joiplay and its components? The current version is 1.20.0 something.
If you havent updated, search for Discord to download the updates.

For me most parts of the game is not even translated... OK the GUI and the main menu mostly is... but after getting the first sow the game and Barn are just showing Chinese Characters... and It still says that it should be english when checking in the main screen

Save, exit, then click "start" button from main menu and it will refresh your game translation

A little bit of context for those who don't know and might be interested in Chinese culture.
In Chinese, calling some a dog or pig isn't purely slut shaming but a more generalized insult (although it is slut shaming in the case of this game). They were originally raised with human waste during old times, so calling someone a dog or pig more or less mean you are calling them a lowly animal raised with shit.
In the case of this game, the original Chinese title word used was actually 'Female Bead Story', and bead has the same pronouciation as pig so it's a pun.

Well this game sure is something, and I'm not sure fun is it. If you mess around a little you can figure out the flow of the game. The cgs are mediocre at best. The farming and working at the store feel unfinished. I'm not sure what the strat is supposed to be for these battles, but I end up just spamming items to refill my energy. There might one day be a game here, but it's not done yet.

So basically the game is currently in a buggy state which constantly reverts the selected language to chinese despite actually saying it's still your selected language.
Title being "Pig training legend" is probably a mistranslation.
"Sow Training Legend" is probably more towards what it means to get across.
