Overview:
A group of students, their Professor and his T.A. arrive on a secluded island for a 4 week long science program. The plan is to study the natural flora on the island while earning double the credit.
This is interrupted when the Professor is killed after an impromptu beach party. When they try to call for help they find that the phones do not work. There is no boat, and no way to contact the mainland.
A charter boat isn't set to arrive for them until the 4 weeks are over.
You must decide where to focus your energy, and who to focus it on. Mistakes can be deadly.
Some of the students start to crack under the pressure. Try to survive and solve the murder while potentially indulging in romance.

Damn the behaviour of the pixeldrain zip file is throwing me off.

detections: jiangmin thinks renpy engine itself is suspicious; can be ignored

behavior: seems fine at a glance. this tab is more about telling you what's happening in detail and not whether it's necessarily malicious (you have to figure it out yourself), and can be confusing or intimidating at times.
you need to browse it one sandbox at a time since each sandbox extracts the zip in its own way and into a different path (and includes a linux sandbox since it's a win+linux pc build of renpy), and some sandboxes log various stuff specific to them and not related to the scanned files, like installing missing directx or extraction through system processes or whatever steps windows takes for reporting a crash.

memory pattern stuff is links that are stored somewhere in the files (could be an in-game credits page listing links to credited assets as plain text, especially if they don't lead anywhere sus).

numerous dropped files is from extracting the archive.

the mitre stuff matters once you have confirmed malware if you want to and know how to research how it behaves. otherwise it doubles as behaviors also found in legit software. you can see that there's overlap in listed stuff with official renpy sdk, or from looking at details of some of those alone: e.g. masquerading seems to detect renpy putting files in appdata, or the boot&registry modification stuff come from background sandbox workings.

the orange sigma rules are from game exe accessing python libs, which appear to be the same as those from renpy 6.99.12.4.2187; only the compiled .pyo files in "renpy" folder seem to differ, but reportedly that happens - and if you're not feeling safe about it, you can delete those and the game will compile them again, or just copy the "game" folder into sdk of the mentioned renpy version and run it from there (or for blanket protection, don't care about details regarding individual files/programs and just run everything you download from the internet in a virtual machine or in a sandbox).

feel free though to report to the staff or in the malware megathread in the site news subforum if your antivirus complains about something once the game is running.

edit: typo in version
