I must admit, although I have no evidence for it.. I find his claim that he works on this game 8 hours a day, 5 days a week - pretty dubious.
It's natural, when you act as your own boss and choose your own deadlines and the money rolls in a-synchronous of any specific feature or deliverable - it becomes very easy to get distracted or do "work" instead of work. Lack of deadlines, milestones or accountability to anyone - removes a lot of pressure to deliver.. something.. or anything.
He even openly admits that when his targets on subscribestar are met, he will drift back to experimental or engine features but when donations start to dwindle, he rolls his sleeves up and starts working on the content that he knows people want.
v0.15 : ??? Can't decide on this one yet. If I don't feel pressure on the income department, I'll probably take a couple of months to fix and revamp the restaurant, so more advanced events can happen like customers going to the restrooms and reacting to Jenny's being there, her restocking drinks, etc.
If I do feel the pressure of releasing novel content, I'll delay this and focus on more non-restaurant content.
His profit incentive should be what his (paying) fans want, not constantly riding the line of juggling his makework features against the amount of subscribers that have come or gone recently. I mean this statement to me shows he absolutely knows what people want but
(as I said before) - I think he genuinely doesn't enjoy working on it. He wants to make engine features and solve coding problems not develop new content for his fans to enjoy

Yes I said I would unwatch this thread but I still get notifications and couldn't help myself.
