So... back in December (I think it was 0.13d) the game was no longer playable on Linux through wine. Some weirdness going on with mono that is shipped along with the game.
I see 14b2 still doesn't start (albeit without error). I also tried 0.13f (also no error), same problem. There's nothing to see in the Player.log file so I tried adding BepinEx to get some kind of details but even BepinEx fails to initialize which means its something very early at startup that is failing (silently, no less).
Switched wine to claim it is Windows 10, no dice.
Windows 11, nothing.
Made a new wine prefix, nope.
Added vcrun2015 and upwards, no.
Added dotnet472 and upwards, no.
Tried running the game in a Windows 7 virtual machine, nothing.
My guess at this point is that somewhere it fails to detect a particular CPU feature and therefore terminates the game. I can spend several days with ILSpy to find it but since I appear to be the only one to have this problem I guess I will have to put this game down.
Shame, it was good too.
