planning on making a game. wondering about community interest between a few options

hey all. now that it's a new year i'd like to commit myself to a project, get a pateron/dev log set up, and start getting some work done. i've been prototyping and planning a few games the last year and i would love to work on every single one of them, so i'm looking into some community feedback for which game might have more interest overall

- Pokemon game
Full 3D game based on Pokemon, with the story and world very much "inspired" by the Kanto region from red/blue. All the pokemon will be anthropomorphic animals who would be a little taller than the humans). Breeding will be the main focus of the game -- while you can capture wild pokemon easily, if you want pokemon powerful enough to beat the elite 5 you'll need to selectively breed them. Sex "attacks" during battle may be a good way to bring down an opponent who might be strong against physical/special attacks, but if you find a wild pokemon or a trainer pokemon with good genes/stats the sex "attacks" to impregnate the pokemon you own might also give you a more powerful pokemon. When you win trainer battles you also have the option to have sex with the trainer...not for strategic reasons, just because. Also, yes, you will be able to have your pokemon follow you around in the world map.

- Silent Hill/Resident Evil game
Full 3D game based on old school Silent Hill/Resident Evil. Tank controls and fixed camera angles. Game will be about an FBI agent who was sent to investigate a string of disappearances in a small north eastern town whose car is quickly disabled. Creepy, sexualized monsters will attack the player, rip off their clothes, try to have sex with them. Stuck in the town with no way out, player will need to scrounge whatever clothing and weapons they can to survive and investigate the mystery of the town.

- Anthro Management game
3D VN management game about a war-torn world that is in danger of having the main six species of the world (humans, dragons, anthro horses, anthro dogs, anthro lizards, snake creatures) all die off...unless you can smooth out social, political, and anatomical differences between the six species and convince them to cross breed with each other. Seeing as how public knowledge of this would cause riots, the player is tasked with managing a remote government installation that houses both the participants and the genetic research equipment required to figure out how to make the species genetically compatible with each other. Player will need to manage power, resources, personnel, and genetic research to save the world from dying out, all while dealing with mysterious events that keep happening at the isolated research station.

I'm not really into furry/bestiality stuff, but I love me some classic Resident Evil.

Having said that, I never understood the gameplay surrounding those types of games where playing "badly" and losing is how you get to the porn content. I always end up trying to get myself killed every time I come across an new enemy until I've exhausted all animations, then I just try to beat the level(and by that point I'm just purposefully avoiding the porn content) and repeat. Just never made much sense to me.
I'm also not all that into the whole creepy monsters banging stuff. I love me some hot (humanoid)monster action action don't get me wrong, but I don't particularly want to see someone fucking a rotting walking corpse or a gangly spider.

Not that I want to dissuade you from doing the game you want to do. That's the most important factor. I'm just ranting into the void.

1. Parodies are really overdone and overused. Especially Pokem0n. Jesus they are 4,326 Pokem0n parodies out there. Or references to it in games. Lol

2. There is not alot of good furry work done. I can name the good ones, particularly TwistedScarlett’s loose MLP parody and Ravager, which is done in a way that its blurred and so first person, its doesnt feel like a Scaly having a harem. (Notice the good ones use a property but have inspiration and arent locked down by the lore. Ravager is clearly referencing GoT from a Daenarys’ Dragon perspective but it isnt in a way so lore is more open for you to create.)

3. Its YOUR game, in the end: What would make YOU happy? Would making another parody be what you would want or would making OC that you control be better?

Considering the response (sorry, I know how it is and feels), maybe take control and do what makes you happy. Best of luck and seeing you have a brain for it by your post, please keep me informed as to your future.

i think the best way to handle "lose to get sex" games is that getting the animation while playing the game lets you also play the animation in a gallery outside of the game. then for my game i can get a little creative for designing unlocks for different animations -- maybe you need an item, maybe you need a certain combination of clothes, maybe you need to play through an optional hard area to get a unique animation. that way there's still some kind of progression even when you're "losing"

that's actually the main reason i wanted to get a little community feedback -- do people want another pokemon clone? is anyone interested in a furry management game? are people aching for gameplay oriented adult games or do they prefer vn-style games? like i mentioned i'm very passionate about each and every one of the options (and the dozens other ideas that i have shelved for later) so i was interested in what other people thought

i'm pretty surprised that the management game has as much interest as the poll suggests so i'm happy to get the feedback the poll provides. you can't please everyone at once but it's nice to know people's opinions

The horror game sounds excellent. If you haven't played it, I recommend playing through all of the original Silent Hill 2 and the expansion "Born From a Wish" which adds more about the character Maria. SH2 has A LOT of sexual symbolism and psychology involved in it from the sexualized nurses, leg monsters getting fucked by Pyramid Head, Maria being the sexy version of the protagonist's dead wife and Angela who incarnates an entire area and monsters from her sexual abuse. The entire game is almost based on the main character's depression and sexual frustration.

I really suggest doing against the last one. Theres a reason why all the games that try to do this always end up failing, and its that the game takes way too much art. Just think about all the pairings that exist with a female and male version of each species. Its too much for a team, much less a one man show. If you want to do this I really advise you make the human the main breeder, and a single sex, or else you will be working on this for the rest of your life or till you abandon it. Of course thats taking into account you arent making a text based game, in which case disregard.

That said OP voting is balanced right now between horror game and management so perhaps combining the two if the vote goes that way? Otherwise what this guy said.

thanks for the feedback. those reasons you listed are why my plan for that game would be to do 3d art for the characters so different pairings would be different animations instead of needing to be all new art every time. i'm more of a fan of 2d over 3d art but i agree doing any kind of breeding game with 2d art would take forever and the project would eventually fall apart. maybe the art wouldn't be the best and maybe the animations wouldn't be the best but it would be do-able with 3d art, i think
