One extension, two tools:
Updater: perpetual update-checks for every F95 game in your library.
Adder: paste a thread URL → full game entry + cover, tags, screenshots.

No more manual version hunting, no more 20-click wizard.

dont know if its a me issue but when i try adding a game and select the screenshots the text is black and the background is blue, so its kinda difficult making out the names of the screenshots if that makes sense. Also screenshots straight up dont work, even when i installed screenshot visualizer 1755188843896.png

Sry for the late reply. I'm kinda on vacation right now, but when I'm back I will continue to update and try to fix the errors. Mostly did this for myself and I already noticed some bugs. But happy you like it otherwise :)

The cause for this is most likely that you are not logged into f95zone. to fix this make sure you have the updater and the adder installed and inside the settings of the updater (menu -> addons -> extension settings -> generic -> EzLewdUpdater) you can login.
Im currently working on an update to merge both extensions into one and also make it in general more reliable, especially the cropping of the cover images.
Please tell me if this worked or if there are any other issues.

Ah I see, sry. At first i made these two extensions, but only the updater contained the login function even though you need the login foremost for the adding of games.
I merged now both extensions together and polished it a bit. Just get the new version, there you will find it.
I hope this works now for you.
If you find any other bugs, just tell me.

When this is installed clicking the login to f95 button crashes playnite now.

On a separate thing The other f95 addon I been trying "F95 Metadata" is also not logging in either, but this crash occurs whether this metadata addon is installed or not.

Thanks for the report!

I tried to recreate this on a fresh portable install and normal install of the latest Playnite version, but the login worked fine for me.

Could you please share the crash details from your log?
  1. Go to %AppData%\Playnite\ (or your Playnite folder if portable).
  2. Open the playnite.log file.
  3. Look for any "ERROR" or "FATAL" lines at the very bottom of the file right after the crash happens.
Posting that error here would help me to look further into this.

ah I didn't check the log myself lol.

I removed Edge Webview2 the other day with the mindset "if anything needs it, it'll reinstall itself"

Reinstalled it and that now works.

Much like Bornanda above, when I add a game I only get a wall of empty boxes with #.jpg but none display to choose cover/background/screenshot. I am definitely logged in now too at least according to the add-on settings. Hitting confirm continues though.

Otherwise seems to be working okay. Only a little bit annoying to have the [version] in the name but that's okay I can live with that. To make it look nice and uniform, formatting the name and getting the metadata stuff then naming it back keeps it looking pretty in my library lol.

Thank you

I tried selecting one of the files upon adding and it threw back this error pointing to the C:\Users\{NAME}\Local\Temp\{name}.jpg

looks like it's got both slashes before .jpg

Hey, thanks for letting me know. atleast the logging in works. If you have any more clues, that would be really helpful, because im having difficulties recreating this issue somehow.
But ill go through the code today/tomorrow and check if i find the cause for the problem.

In regards of the version naming, thanks for your feedback.
that was just for me the most convinient way. But im open to suggestion to improve the extension in any way.

I dunno howor what to say,Playnite is like it on the whole, I dunno if i'm missing or something isn't setup correctly but most images aren't previewed correctly in app. SOME do work though. Dunno what the dependancy is I'm fairly new to playnite in general.

As for the version thing, I'm unsure. I'm kind of okay on the whole as this library is it's own thing etc. THere IS a version tag in the metadata but dunno how 'usable' that really is. especially then making it alittle user friednly and intuitive. As Isaid I'm okay with the vx.xx being in the title overall lol.

Currently use the other playnite plugin, which works, but I really like some of the things you have here so gave it a quick try.
My thoughts and findings in no particular order:

-I don't have an extrametadata folder, perhaps because I'm using the portable app playnite? I pointed it at Playnite\library\files, which contains a bunch of folders named after database ids and contains the covers/backgrounds for other games, and it seems to mostly work as expected.

-If I go to the open metadata folder (which goes to a game id folder in the library\files), it is empty. The background and cover image still show up in playnite, so not sure if it's getting cached in memory or linked somewhere else, but it's weird

-I really like the image picker for what type of picture to use where

-Does playnite even have a built-in way to show any screenshots/extra images you select? I've searched for this before but haven't had any luck. I did find where this plugin downloaded to, so know the files saved successfully

-The cropping feature could be very useful for the many games that have only wide screenshots. However, the side resizing handles only allowed shrinking, and shrank both dimensions keeping the same aspect ratio, and dragging the corners also seemed to keep aspect ratio and would behave weirdly if you dragged them outside of the image ever.

-Why use a version number in the title and not the version field built in to playnite's game metadata?

-Did not appear to be a way to use it to update metadata for games already in my library, including ones added by this. That's a big advantage of the other plugin, as I can drag the executable on playnite to easily create the launch action, correct or update metadata as the game develops, and easily add info if I happen to find and add a game before it reaches f95.

-I really, really like the idea of filtering games and tags out from the update check. Like, this is the killer feature that got me to try this out. While I don't trust a complete or final tag to not actually get updates, I'd definitely use this to filter out checking games I either don't care if they get an update, and probably a different filtered tag for 'complete' games that I can occasionally remove from the filter list for semi-manual checks.

-I just lazily copied and pasted a bookmark that was actually to the reviews page of a game, which didn't get any metadata and I understand why. Nitpicking, maybe a warning if the url seems to have extra bits like that or page numbers as a QoL improvement?

-Because any URL can be used, one thing this plugin can handle that the other can't is mods

-It did not seem like this plugin is able to scrape the description, developer name, or links, which the other one does

-I found that the update checker adds a specific update available tag when it checks, which I could see both being useful, and annoying ( if it auto-removes the tag when the version matches, then nice job!).

-As someone who uses not my default browser for these games, I see your option to go to the game in playnite and not open the browser, and I appreciate you

Also in regards to rexiaszombie 's images not previewing, could be an issue of windows not natively supporting the right image codec, assuming that this plug-in doesn't do any conversion.

The posts around here in the other plugin thread talk about it : https://f95zone.to/threads/playnite-extensions-f95zone-dlsite-and-fanza.56493/post-16045467

FWIW, I installed the linked plug-in, which worked, but it apparently can cause issues where windows explorer freezes for a second any time you manually rename a file, and all my attempts at removing it have failed. I don't know how common it is, but you've been warned. Thanks for the great functional software M$

As I mentioned before I'm very new to playnite so still discovering things. by the "other app" I assume you mean the one that is 2.5 community fork (3.0 worked on in the thread also)?

I noticed the core thing that this checks is the "f95" link. I Right click on an added game, add metadata and get it from F95 (using the other plugin). I make sure I retain that f95 link even if it's replaced with the exact same link but named "F95Zone" it won't check ver. So I just make sure to keep that and then use other metadata scrapes.

I also was unsure on the meta data folder I pointed it to some test folder but considering that I don't get the image previews I figured it was redunant right this minute for me.

Also you mentioned this supports mods? I guess those mods with separate threads and such?

Also in regards to rexiaszombie 's images not previewing, could be an issue of windows not natively supporting the right image codec, assuming that this plug-in doesn't do any conversion.

Ah dang taht sucks about the hitching in explorer. I do wish that something would properly replace the OS, I know I know Linux and I won't get into that here but i'm just too lazy to switch just this minute!

I'll give this AV1 Video Extension a whirl it might fix some of the video ones for things i'm sure. Maybe it'll fix some vid stuff I've seen others post but I'm unsure on why just any images show up this way, again I think it's a playnite/me thing and not you! I haven't researched into the why.

Also thank you for the work you have done and are doing on the addon!

Thanks for the feedback! I really appreciate the detailed breakdown of what is and isn't working for you.

I'm currently working on an update for the extension. I’ll be looking into the cropping issues and the metadata folder quirks you mentioned to see what I can include in the next patch.

Playnite doesnt have a build in way to show screenshots. Im using the extension ScreenshotsVisualizer for that + Helium Theme.

For why the version is in the title, i just like to see the version right in the name, but ive heard you!
