Please ban AI slop posters in game threads

Why should the sysadmin be pissed? All the images (stills, not animation) are saved on server with a modern lossy compression. And sysadmin added after the change more edge image server to cache those images and let users have fast loading time. Doesn't look like he's pissed at all.

Well, there's still a ton of iterations that people post. From what I remember, I downloaded an image again off this site, and it was still 8+ MB. This was a long time ago though. It's cool that all that is in place though.

What year is it for 8MB to be considered as a big size for an image?

The average size for WEBP image in compressed games is 50MB, therefore 6 times more. This while the average size for AVIF attachment is 100MB, therefore 12 times more.
And it can't be a typo, because 8 GB would be clearly too big, while 80MB would still be a low average for an image.

Where do you have those size? A lossless compressed RAW image form my camera (36 MP) has 40 MB, the JPEG 20 MB. Your WEBP example is 50 MB, your AVIF even 100. So, those files would have over 2.5 or 5 times the base data than the JPEG from my camera and thus would be 90 MP or 150 MP and I haven't seen one dev delivering 8k or 16k image in the game.

Most of them using HD images or, if more, 4k, what would be around 5 MB or 2.5 MB for an JPEG image and even lower for more modern lossy compression.

Artwork related to the game should always be posted in an Off-Topic thread related to the game.

Or something to that effect.

The issue here, is that people always break rules, but it’s up to people to report the content if it goes against the rules. Moderators aren’t watching every thread.

Would mass reporting these users/posts be useful?

i would consider mass-reporting over minuscule issues a good way to become hated by moderators.

We are seeing it more and more, users posting AI slop video's of official game renders in official game threads for easy likes. Does anyone else get absolutely turned off by it? Because I am!

We are? I haven't seen many? If you really dislike it just block the user/s so you never see their posts?

He's complaining about people spamming game threads with completely unrelated AI-generated "fan art".
