Hello,

please help me, I can't decide between Geforce RTX 2060 6gb or GeForce RTX 3050 8 GB. The 3050 has more cuda cores (2560) and ram but the 2060 bus width is 192 bit.

according to the site above the 2060 relativ performance is better with 16%. But the 3050 has more cuda cores. Which is better choice for faster rendering? I usually using 1-2-3 peopla rendering with interior camera.

Thanks for the hints guys.

I would wait and save some more so you can get a 3060 or higher

I don't remember or know if vram is still an issue with iray, or if daz made a work around so it doesn't care about vram (using regular ram). I know it used to be that which ever has more vram is a stronger choice simply because it could allow for a more complex scenes (it used to be that if the scene was too big, that the render would never start because you didn't have enough memory). Various different programs have worked around this (I use blender, which has its own work around implemented, hence I don't recall if daz still has this issue or not)

Both options kinda suck imho, if you could save some more money and get a 3060 (as rayminator suggested) I would do that.

Having said that, assuming the price is the same for both cards, I would go for the 3050. According to , while 2060 is the better card, the difference is practically insignificant and the extra 2 Gbs of memory will probably matter at some point.

If the price difference between the cards is significant, (my threshold would be near 50 euros), I'd just get the cheaper of the two.

This. The 3050 is on par with a 1660ti by most metrics. Whereas a 3060 is hanging just under a 2080ti. Two different classes of cards, imo. That is, assuming OP isn't talking about laptops.

Thank you guys for the inputs. I use a desktop machine for render and has a 1050ti 4gb card. I want to replace it with a faster card.

The 3060 sounds good but I can't afford. My budget is enough for a 2060 or 3050... :(

The 3050 has more cores, it will render faster. Cores are like horsepower for rendering.
