I just can't understand. If i download a game, and play it on the download folder, it runs fine. But as soon as i change the game from the download folder to another folder, it stops working. Have been having this problem mainly with some RPG VX Ace games, some Renpy games, and some plain .exe games (i.e. i have no fucking clue what engine it is). Even non H-games, like roms for my Project64 emulator are having this exact problem.

My PC is on japanese locale (as many of those games don't run otherwise). I have all RTPs instaled for the RPG games. I just reset my PC to it's original condition. And for some reason i now have all those games that i just can't open! And no, downloading again doesn't work. Please help, i don't want to lose all those games :'(

Try checking the permissions and read-only settings for the folder.
On Windows:
  • Right-click a folder and click properties.
  • Check to see if the folder has the read-only box ticked.
  • Try unticking this and seeing if that works.
The other thing is that if you copied from one system to another (it still counts as another system if you did a reset) then the files might be tied to the old account; in that case, try this:
  • Right-click on a folder and click properties.
  • Click on the Security tab at the top.
  • Find your name in the list in the top panel.
  • Click it and see what permissions you have in the lower panel.
  • If you have write access or full access, there shouldn't be a problem.
  • If you don't, you can give yourself this access by clicking on your name (top panel) and clicking Edit, then click on your name again and then click Full Control in the lower panel and click OK on the popup box.
If that doesn't work, then come back and we can try something else. :)

First, thanks for answering :) Now to the problem: i tried to untick the box, but the computer won't let me. Well, ok, he will, and will act like it did. But as soon as i click on properties again, there it is, marked as read-only. And i have no idea what to do about it :(

[EDIT] Oh, and just to make clear: i did give myself full permition on the security tab. It still didn't work.
