Normally takes 1-2 month, but if that person is busy it takes 6-8 months.

I recently doing a same pkmn rom hack(almost 5 months). FGO based and includes little bit lewd charaters + advance battles etc stuff.

You hit Enter and The Pokemon will Mega Evovle

Press whatever button you'd use to open your menu (like, to pick pokedex, items, save, whatever) during battle, and it'll mega evolve when you use the next move.

The rom included in the download is already patched, the ups file is only if you need to update it from a previous version

so i can't patch it again? ( i tried updating the game from 0.63 to 0.71)
i got the 0.71 ups file from this guy
