on one side i want to try this game again now that it might not be a laggy hell to play, but on the other side " This game is meant to be TOUGH. So use items, strategize, and play smart. Grind if you need to. If you're a filthy casual, this game is not meant for you. "

starting to think that the op loves managements/strategy games while i'm the complete opposite. like, papers please by example, i'm sure the op could like that game as casual fun or even fallout 1 or 2 but personally speaking, to me papers please and other games that follow those kind of themes tends to be nothing but a chore to me (especially if there's not even an attempt to make it optional in the first place).

This game is a far cry from Papers please. Its literally like Final fantasy 1 - 13. turn based combat that requires you to think of the type of moves you need/ items used in battle/ and learning to swap held items, etc.

hmm, how to explain. based on what i believe i understand about your game, you actually need to know what you're doing in order to get into it, if i wing it without studying how to actually play pokemon or without cheating i'll miss out on a lot in this game and it'll also take 4 times longer but not in an enjoyable way (that's actually what i remember from the last time i tried, expect with lots of lags too hahaha).

the problem is like a mix of a lot of things that i'm honestly not sure how to explain but yeah, there's a difference between like, zelda 1 where you just drink the fairy potion to get health and zelda breath of the wild where you need ingredients, campfire, recipe, to be safe and THEN you can get your healing item but is it good enough for what you're trying to fight (both good games and i like both btw)? it's kinda like that, i believe the simplicity and accessibility is kinda lost here since original pokemon games are actually made with casuals in mind, here i can't just wing it and learn "at my pace/on my own", i'd need to actually know what i'm doing or like i said at the start it'll take much longer for less enjoyment, at some point i know i'll need to leave the game to check on what i need to do next, what pokemon i need to use, at what minimum level, with what moves, with what items, etc... kinda make me feels like i'm playing a modded hardcore fps i'v never seen before on the hardest difficulty avaliable. except instead of dying, respawning and trying again in the span of 15 seconds with at least an idea of what i did wrong and how to improve (still wouldn't like that tho, i'd down the difficulty till i actually have fun, otherwise what's even the point of playing? no, seriously, why do peoples spend tme on things that don't make them feel good, i don't think i'll ever truly understand), here the price for failure is spending a lot more time than 15 seconds and it's not even guaranteed that i'll even progress after that if i somehow missed one of the flags/steps for whatever i'm trying to do.

TLDR: really, i think i could just resume that to "game not casual, me saaaaaad, me no pleasure from games that not casual options" or "me like games, me no like checklists with so many extra steps", it's really hard to explain and resume, sorry haha. also please don't think i'm insulting you or the way you do things.

i believe we just have different way to enjoy said things and i'm genuinely annoyed at the idea of not being able to play your game, would be good if i could bear with it, i guess i'll try anyway and see how it goes haha
