i think you got this wrong, he is probably just incredibly annoyed and frustrated that this is how most pokemon nsfw games so far went, now he can't help himself but to laugh at the situation and make fun of it
either they get abandoned, or they got preyed on by Nintendo lawyers, or they supposedly didn't get enough money for it
but i personally wouldn't give up just yet, sometimes the devs decide to here and there work a little on their games and then randomly release a bigger update a few years later, or they at some point just get motivated to really continue developing it
and of course there is a chance that once again either something terrible happened in his life or he needs to focus on school or something
you know like half of all devs apparently except this time for real XD

Both Ecchi version and Cultivation are primed for a big update....just gods I hate how Cultivation dev does things on their discord and it's a main reason why I don't like being in discords for a lot of development teams. Like....what a year or so of "sneak peeks" "random polls" "obvious stalling that even they themselves make a joke out of them stalling". From what was shown, they could have made 2 even 3 nicely sized updates while building to this one major one. And they didn't mostly from a request from a "friend". At least, that's what I gleamed from it. I mostly just eye roll through their posts now truth be told.
Well just got to the end of content.
Did not expected it actually be such a good game on objective terms since you how, porn game. Too bad it's on indefinite hiatus.
