Poll: Main Character Transformations

Putting some feelers out for an idea I have for a game which is completely different to my other thread, heading in the Sci-Fi direction here. This game's story involves the MC traveling and living separate lives between 2 worlds or dimensions, they're basically the same core person in each world but they live totally different lives and identities as the worlds are completely different to each other also. They're basically asleep in one world when they are awake in the other (time is irrelevant as it bends between the worlds) so they are not sure which world is the dream and which is the reality or if that's even the case.

Would you rather stay as the same character physically in both worlds or would you be more interested to play a different physical version of that character in one world? For example; male in one world, female in the other? Or male in one world, futa in the other? Or even female in one world and futa in the other?

I think playing in 2 separate worlds as 2 separate physical characters opens up a huge number of possibilities for story telling, game scenes and fetishes but I also get that some people get very immersed in their characters and don't want to play certain character types or genders. Any other thoughts apart from the poll options?

I'd say that futa / transgender is a kind of in-between.
So the change from man to woman or vice versa would be bigger.

A futa MC could still take the male role with a woman, and in the end be just a man with tits.
A woman on the other hand would likely be penetrated by a man at some point.

Personally I prefer to take a lesbian (or virgin) path in female protag game.
But on the other hand, if the game doesn't allow that option...

It could be interesting if you first present it as two completely separate stories. One happily married man and one happily married woman (both firmly hetero and in stereotypical gender roles, e.g. policeman and teacher) who are unaware of each others existence. Due to some event (medication?) they start having dreams and gradually realise that they are the same person. The interesting part would be how they then deal with the gender conflict. The man would suddenly feel gay / violated in the woman's role and the woman would be forced to act tough when she isn't really used to being tough.

Would the man become interested in male bi-sex? Would the woman turn lesbian? How would it influence their current relationships?

While some minor shape-changing like tentacles, wings or tails (actual tails, meaning extended backbones) that a character can manifest at will, are fine, it's absolutely NO gender change, magical or otherwise for me, just a lesbian female MC.

The closest thing I could imagine would be either playing in different times with different incarnations of the same character, who can be of different genders, though I think that is more a story for a regular game than for a porn game. A possessing demon or an AI capable of manipulating cybernetic brain enhancements would be a possible option too. Otherwise just make them two seperate characters.

I could accept a game where the main character was female and has some scenes where she transforms into or fantasizes about being male but not the other way around. Futa is a hard no for me. I think most people are either really into that or violently opposed to it.

You're very close in some parts, the original idea was to start off as a female in present day and in the alternate dimension you play a male. The worlds in these dimensions are almost polar opposites, as are the characters in each. Present day in one (a more normal, mundane existence) and full blown sci fi a few centuries in the future for the other (action packed sensory overload lol). Gender conflict was going to play a part in the story for humor and variety purposes although the story of why these 2 people (or is it one person) from completely different lives and eras are connected is first and foremost.

I'm actually not into futa, trans, bi or gay content myself but I'm definitely not against it and I am happy to make it for people if there's a big enough call for it.

I always wanted the story to have multiple arcs and endings and maybe that's a way to do so, having different story arcs based on if you play the same gender in each world, different genders in each world, straight, bi or gay. Everyone would have full choice as to which path they want therefore nothing would be forced on anyone, you'd play the game fetishes and orientations you want. As far as I'm aware that would be different to how most other games do it. I'd just need to plan to see if it is viable without having to write and render more than a one man team can handle.

Yes futa does seem wildly popular and becoming even more so every day, I'm not into it myself but I have seen games incorporate it in a way that it is optional. Even if I don't go down the futa path for the MC, there will be a futa character in the game who the MC is friends with, nothing would happen between them sexually if you were to choose the straight path, but even so, is there anyone opposed to even having a futa character in their game in a non sexual, platonic way?

I'm not opposed in the sense that I would skip a game for just that. Though if the only reason it is there is to check one more kink off the list then the game would probably be better off without it in my view.

I'm the same way. I wouldn't be raging in the comments about it but I would give it a pass. I really think most people who are into that want to see a lot of it and almost everyone else wants to see absolutely none. I could be wrong but that's just me. Some people act like Futa means you can have your cake and eat it too and that just doesn't work for me. Futa is not both to me, it's neither. It's the same as adding gay content for me. Hard pass. Doesn't matter if it's entirely avoidable.
