Amazes me how many guys have really great systems and some of us just normal midrange / entry level systems. At teh end it's how you setup DAZ and your render settings for the most part.

That'S really a dream machine!!
Yeah...
Sometimes when i am working on it i'm afraid that's it's becoming self aware and it's going to kill me^^
Funny part is that i only do 2 things on that PC ..... Working on my game and listening to music while working on the game.
Nothing else... So a little bit of overkill.

Gaming, surfing and other stuff is on my other pc with the same specs but a I7 instead of the I9..

Want to have a good laugh tonight? Here it goes then:

OS: Windows 10 Pro x64
CPU: Intel Core i7-3770 3.40 GHz
RAM: 8GB DDR3
GPU: GTX 750 ti FTW 2GB GDRR5

And this little baby gets the job done after 8 hours of rendering on 720p... most of the time :)

Oh nice, loving this. Guessing you've been building PCs before?

I don't really do renders myself (well, not yet at least, maybe I'll get into it at some point when I've got the time), but been building PCs for five years or so whenever I get the chance, currently running two machines, one with a Ryzen 2700x (workstation) and one with a 1600 (HTPC). Would love to build a Threadripper machine when AMD releases the new second gen 32 core Threadripper

1080ti's are out of production now and the ones left on the market are just as expensive as there RTX 2080ti counterparts

Main System:
CPU: i7 6850k @ 3.9 Ghz (OC to 4.3GHz)
Motherboard: Asus x99 Strix Gaming
RAM: 32GB DDR4 Quad Channel @3200Mhz
GPUs: EVGA GTX 1080Ti SC2 Hybrid and EVGA GTX 1080Ti SC2
SSDs: 512GB M.2 SSD, 2x 1TB Samsung SSDs
Cooling: (CPU) Closed loop 240mm liquid cooler
Case: NZXT Phantom I think.

I am an amateur when it comes to rendering and game development. Based on what I done so far, IRay renders seem to be CPU heavy, not very GPU heavy.

Have you gone into advanced render settings and uncheck the CPU. Because leaving the CPU on in an Iray render will cause a bottleneck. Renders come out faster when only using GPU's. Also, uncheck Opticx Prime

ofc thy are but I'm not that crazy. for me 20 series is a flop, not that of a great improvement and prices talk for themselves

Damn, Completley missed that! Thank you! 35 min renders r now 20 min. It a nice jump and now I can do other shit while the pc is rendering. This kindof took away my need to build a rendering server. I might still build just for the hell of it.

a laptop...

CPU: core i5
RAM: 6 GB
GPU: nvidia 740m

it's a piece of junk that shuts the GPU down after each render, but hey, I'm not that good at it either.

CPU - Ryzen 7 1700
GPU - ZOTAC GTX 970 (4GB VRAM)
RAM - 16 GB DDR4@2400MHz
HDD - 500GB HDD@5400RPM (the true bottleneck)

Planning to upgrade the ram to 32GB and the GPU

My new shiny, which replaced an ancient-by-any-measure Q6600. Work provided laptops got me by for so long, the desktop languished.

CPU: Ryzen 9 3900X
MOBO: ASUS TUF 570X WiFi
GPU: ASUS ROG STRIX RX590
RAM: 32GB DDR4 @3200, CAS 15
HDD/SSD: 2x 512 M.2 NvME, 1x 500GB SSD, 2x256GB SSD, 2x2TB WD Black HDD.

Air Cooled for now, ill dig out my radiators and do the watercooling when I can be bothered.

Storage is salved from old machines, so there is an.. interesting mix in there. Getting my teeth into Daz, Iray seems to be very finicky - lots to learn and optimise. If i get into this seriously, ill probably throw a 1080Ti or something in there as a slave card to render things.

- i5 3570K @3.40
- 24 Go DDR3
- 512Go SSD / 10To@7200rpm HDD
- GTX 1060 3,5Go (display) / RTX 2070 8Go (render)

Had to switch to win10 due to Nvidia Studio driver, and thanks I hate it :cautious:.
