6. Signatures
  1. Total maximum height should be 200px
    • This allows for images, and a couple of lines of text and/or Spoiler tag
  2. Maximum of 2 images (3 for Donors or people who had their signature set up before this rule was implemented)
    • The maximum dimensions of EACH image should be 450x125
    • The maximum total file size of all images should be less than 3MB
    • Gifs are allowed, but the animation shouldn't be 'annoying' or seizure-inducing
    • Images must be hosted on f95zone attachment only (thread for posting signatures)
  3. Spoilers are fine, however:
    • You may not use it to hide additional images (max is still 2)
    • Youtube/Vimeo/etc embeds are allowed within spoilers, a maximum of 3
    • You can hide as much text as you'd like
  4. Links & Promotion:
    • Links to Patreon, official game sites/discords/blogs/etc, and game threads are welcomed
    • Do not use referral links or any other similar form of promotion
    • Don't beg for likes
  5. All forum rules apply to signature content - be respectful

So I posted this just over a week ago, to make sure people knew that there were such things as signature rules. (I prefer guidelines)
Turns out a lot of people know the '2 images' rule. The maximum dimensions, not so much. But that scales down, right?

Let's talk about the 3MB limit. Obv it's there to keep the forum loading fast. Luckily there are no signatures on mobile, but if you use mobile data for your computer, 10+ MB signatures are not what you want to spend MB's on. 3MB might seem a bit tight, hell - make it a single 6MB sig for all I care. But why in gods name am I seeing 660x338 signatures, then squashed into 125px?

Look, I get it. Other images get posted as well and they can go up to tenths of MBs all the same. It's hard to actually make a sig that fits and goes under the criteria. But can we at least attempt to try and stay close to it? For other users? I'm not a mod or anything, just making sure we don't get 20+MB signatures. And we're close.

There are signatures here that are the size of four SNES Games or one Gameboy Advanced game. If I can fit Super Mario World, Donkey Kong Country, Street Fighter II Turbo AND The Legend of Zelda in the size your signature... You might as well serve an emulator to go with it! ;)
