Ren'Py - Abandoned - Power Vacuum [Ch. 12 Official] [What? Why? Games]

I'm quite torn on how to review this game. There are some really good things about it and then some no so good things.

Pros

• Excellent writing
• Excellent humor
• Excellent character development
• Good variety of characters
• Good sex scenes
• Good animations

Cons

• Too much repetitive dialog! This is where the sandbox part of the game fails miserably. I end up clicking on the 'Skip' button half of the game.
• Character models suffer from the common huge breasts, huge hips, and huge ass syndrome! Too many developers cater to horny teenagers and not the adults in the room. If you look at renders where the MC is side by side with Ophelia or Brenna; the MC would weight approximately 150 lbs (68 kgs), Ophelia 300 lbs (136 kgs), and Brenna 225 lbs (102 kgs). If I could post pictures it would be very clear. The other girls aren't as bad but still follow the same body type.

The main problem with the game is the repetitive dialog. Aside from the unique scenes in the game, all the other events in the game repeat through the same chapter. Some dialog even repeats itself in future chapters with sometimes a slight variation. Once I make it to a new chapter, I expect to see all new dialog. The game ended up being boring at times due to this problem.

After I played through chapter 1, I was hitting the 'Skip' text button on a regular basis (and I mean a lot). I never used the 'Skip' text button as much as I have in any other game! This is not a formula for success in my opinion.

I actually quit the game on several occasions because I got too bored with it. This is the opposite of what you want to see in a game.

The good things about the game are the excellent writing, humor, and characters (development and personalities). This is done quite well!

If there was more unique dialog and I wasn't having to overuse the 'Skip' text button constantly, I would rate the game higher.

The game did have me laughing on several occasions which I am thankful for! It is one of the funniest games on this site in my opinion. It is a lighthearted game and it doesn't take itself too seriously.

If you love humor and can overlook it's shortcomings then I recommend giving this game a try!

I have played a few of the "grind" style games and in a number of cases they became a bit boring quite quickly, i would go so far as to say they were a chore to get through.

Where Power Vacuum is different comes from the quality of the writing, no its not deep and meaningful, no it wont give you emotional moments like some games (so far as of 0.7, i revise this if later chapters introduce this). However, what it will do is make you laugh unless you cannot let go and embrace your inner child/pervert.

Everything from the completely random dialogue exchanges between the characters to the rather exaggerated (though brilliant) facial expressions the MC manages to get the female characters to pull builds to the reason why i love this VN so much. ( I am setting myself a challenge to see if i can get the wife to go cross eyed during cuddle times)

This is a great piece of work so far and i can only hope that the quality continues as i cannot wait to see how they manage to keep this up.

I found this game looking for games with futa content. If you're here because of that, I'll warn you that there's barely any. No character is futa and there are just a couple of scenes with futa content which are in a game that the characters play.

Nonetheless, what an awesome game. Art is very good and the characters are very hot and the animations really improve as the game progresses. The animations after chapter 4 are noticeably better than the ones before.

But the best thing about this one is the gameplay. It is a visual novel, so there is no minigames or grinding stuff to do, but the way the story progresses is incredible. I have not seen any other lewd game here use story progression quite this way.

Really looking forward for further releases.

Review of v0.7...

This game was MUCH better than I was expecting. The writing is the best part of it. The story is pretty good. I loled more than a few times.

I like the characters for the most part:

The MC - The middle child. Is gone for four years after being driven off by his father and returns after his death. I thought the MC was a little scrawny at first. Especially since the women all seemed to be larger than him. But as the story progresses and you do the gym events with Catherine the MC actually starts to grow and get swole. I didn't even notice it at first until one of the girls said something.

Ophelia - The Mother. I find it hard to believe she would be as prudish as she is when she had the MC when she was 16. She will jerk the MC off in bed, but then get mad when somebody tries to tell a sex joke.

Catherine - The youngest sister. She's the 18 year old girl written as the "grown woman who knows nothing about sex" trope. But it's explained that she went to Catholic school and her sex-ed was abstinence only. So I guess it would be somewhat plausible. Despite that I like Catherine because she's one of the funnier characters in the game.

Brenna - The older sister. Brenna is all anti-social until she learns she can make a lot of money being an OnlyFans thot.

Lucia - The cousin. She moves in shortly after the beginning. She was a little weird at first, but opens up later. Probably the best looking character in the game.

The game is sandbox, but there is a built in guide to help you progress the events. The game is also a slow burn. Probably slower than it needs to be. I didn't time myself, but I had to have put 20+ hours in before I hit the end of content and there are only two characters you actually have sex with and none of them are the family. Everything else is oral and hand jobs.

The sex scenes are nicely animated. Although I think the googly eyed sex faces on the girls are kind of dumb, but I imagine they are there for comedic effect.

If this game had one weakness I would have to say it's the body types. The girls are all gorgeous in the face, but they all suffer from the...big thighs/huge ass/cow tits...body type. Some of the girls have it to a lesser degree, but it's all still a variation on a theme. There isn't really much diversity of body type unless you want to count the few fat characters that show up a few times.

All things considered I still gave this game 5 stars and I highly recommend it.

The game started off well- reasonable motives, good dialoges and good renders.
But as soon as the 'dick accident' happened, the story went downhill and completely absurd. I understand that the MC's and women's urge to 'rehabilitate' his dck keeps the game alive (or at least the excuse for all the lewd stuff), but come on.. The constant whining and self-doubting gets annoying pretty fast.
I very much hope, that the story AFTER the rehabilitation will return to a more reasonable level.
Another bad thing about the game is the grind- it often takes up to 20 repetitive actions to trigger the next event.. for every episode.

First post for feedback with any game, keep up the fantastic work. Especially after seeing those spoiler pics, and enjoy the story of youth and enthusiasm vs. age and treachery. I do recommend having some way to flip the tables with Hunter's plans, I don't know what you have planned with the relationship stats but it could be a good way to use those like banking them to see through a ruse of Hunter's and basically take over the plan and use it as your own. It could also be a way to add an anti-hero style path, but I also know making any game takes time and effort so I would understand not having that type of time. But yeah, keep up the good work.

Long story short this is easily in my top 3 games I've played from this site if not my absolute favorite.

The scenario is standard for an incest game, a guy comes back home after being away for a while and adds the bonus points for also being because of a tragedy but and here is the big one despite having played a bunch of games that have the same scenario... I've never felt the need to skip to the saucy bits, the writing is so good that for me just knowing what is next in the story is its own reward.

That being said the greatest strength of this game has is in my opinion the character acting, all the poses and expressions on these models are so exaggerated, energetic and just god damn fun, so much so that despite looking kind of realistic being relatively well proportioned human models it feels like a Saturday morning cartoon most of the times.

The humor is quite hit or miss especially since I'm from Latin America and most of the humor comes from dropping off names or references of stuff from the U.S.A and while I have managed to catch a lot of them I'm sure a lot has slipped through the cracks but whenever the humor comes solely from the character's personality it is usually a great big belly laugh from me.

And yes the villain of the story is an ugly, detestable, deplorable, shameless piece of steaming shit... which makes him oh so perfect, the best jokes and interactions come from him and the protagonist trying to outsmart each other and since you can even turn off the NTR and make him lose by default you never have to feel the sting of losing to this character that was made exclusively to piss you off and make you jealous.

The progression I will admit is slow there are some sexy scenes scattered here and there but as of 0.7 there are few full-on sex scenes in here (plenty of foreplay though) but I have to admit the build-up is very interesting and very very sexy also, them getting into an actual wooing phase is something a game only focused on sex scenes will never do this one is focused on story and characters and that makes the sex scenes we do have interesting and I'm sure the ones that are yet to come very satisfying. There is a little bit of grind in chapter 1 too but don't worry that goes away as soon as the very next chapter and becomes a full-blown kinetic novel.

TL;DR: Dev REALLY knows what he is doing with the writing and staging.

This is probably like one of the 100s of games I've played on this site throughout the years, but I this might be my 3rd ever review, so Dev you've earned it. I will say that I've never played a game where I've laughed more times than I "came". The witty wordplay blows every other game dialogue out of the water, but that's not to say it doesn't become stale after the ridiculous amounts of hours I've put into this game. I've often found myself un-immersed after a big word that I had to look up to get the joke sometimes. None the less it was still an epic journey.

I can say each update took me well over 8 hours to play in each one and that's me admiring the scenery. I have seen game updates that big since playing Offcuts. I had a couple of problems initially, like the MC's dick being humongous in a game that seems more realistic than most games on this site. If you think you're going to have a hj immediely going into a bj than you're mistaken as this game is very much so blue balling. I mean you can only play so many games where it cuts straight to sex so taking a breather and earning it is very much appreciated in the end.

That's not to say that there are various times where we could've gone all the way with the sister, but the dev clocked out and blue balled us. The 2nd time in the hotel is one that comes to mind. The first time sure she jumped off you, but you would think everything would lead into the moment of sex with the sister after that great monologue from Eva... But nope she takes it up the ass instead. I also can count the times the mother as given us hj's and I like that the 1st 5 didn't go straight too "I can't take it anymore mc, please fill my mouth"... but after the 15th hj I kinda don't even get turned on anymore, because it was played out way too long. Yea sure the more realistic approach is nice and brand new, but it gets annoying after a while.

I love Catherine's route! Yea sure she annoys me as much as she makes me laugh, but the progression of her scenes is actually well paced and interesting. I mean at this point if everything goes right we should have sex with her by 0.8 or 0.9. I care to comment that I don't like the pace with Aliza. Yes sure she was very easy to get a bj from, but I mean it's like you made us blow her off for Mallory, who was being a bitch to her for so long. I'm well aware of the sex appeal she brings, but at the cost of ignoring the Aunt to the point where she just tells you she doesn't want to do it anymore, because it would devastate the mom.
I can get behind this excuse if there were more scenes like bj/hj up until the point where right before sex she stopped and gave that reason, but she was cockblocked so long that she gave it right there.

I can go more in-depth into every story arc I've mentioned, but I'd rather this be a bit quicker. The amber storyline is doing great and I was upset that I got cockblocked by the mom, but her reasons were justified and I like that the Dev knew this and felt the need to make it better for when it actually happens. I can tell where gonna eventually get some Amber/Kimiko sex down the line, so fingers crossed. Now I would like to also mention that this is incredible when it comes to piecing each storyline together. I mean it almost to good... for instance cath sex ed story where she mentions she wants to watch amber and mc fuck is crossing over and when we had sexy time with amber in the bathroom cath got caught. I just like to little details that cross everything as it makes me want to soak every bit of dialogue up.

Not to mention when Eva's dildo was stolen I didn't know who took it. I thought it was Hunter, but then I seen Brenna looking on the floor for a "hairclip" I believe and I figured it was her who took it. Then she gave it to the mom... Oh the irony.
Lastly based on this game I would like to say we've finally got some info regarding why Hunter wants to fuck everyone. I really enjoyed this information as it made me dislike Hunter even more. It made more sense as to why the MC's dick is 9 inches long, so I can finally maybe justify his dick size. Now lets get into stats and the final verdict

Three stars just because I liked the writing, humor and amount of reading.

Until Chapter 6 there would almost be no sex (non NTR route). 1 or 2 repetitive scenes with Eva from early chapters. Thats it. I think I'm slow reader and I'm talking about at least 10-12 hours until chapter 6. Amount of sex scenes compared to reading...well, you got my point.

All devs going slowly on these incest games, playing by the book: step by step (ogling, touching, HJ, BJ etc..) and maybe it was fun one or two games but it feels now like a damned routine. I understand sex scenes require more time to make them, but it's really dumb and boring to see spineless MC and prude ladies from one inc-st game dev to another.
That being said - very slow game. Chapters 6 and 7 are better in terms of content amount.

I've had laughs out loud several times. Really hilarious situations.

Spooky material. Wish game could have w and w/o Ahegao scenes but it would double amount of rendering time and not gonna happen.

Replay player after Chapter 1.
No grind but often you have to come once to an event and character will tell you to come tomorrow. This is the only BUT.
Good tooltip system. I'm not into Sandbox games but this one didnt bring any discomfort.

Overall good game. I just wish eveything could be more mature and straightforward instead of "just out of puberty, I'm virgin, please dont hurt me".

The base story is a mess of problems, starting with the MC was forced to leave home at fifteen because your dad was such a monster(all the women knew this was happening) that you need to move out to protect yourself which i can understand but that means your mother and sisters choose your dad over you and 4 years later you come back when the dad is dead and for some reason the women are so happy to see MC which is strange as they clearly didn't care enough about MC then to stop the dad or to leave him and for some reason the MC is apologizing to them? if anything they should be apologizing to the MC, after that the game is a battle of who can incest the family faster MC or your grandfather.

As for the women well i cant imagine any reason a normal person would to want to be around them, they choose the dad over MC and now they want to make MC feel bad for having to leave and survive on his own, they use him and discard him all the time during the game and on top of that they act like such bitches(to the point if i was the MC i would have said to hell with them and let hunter have them) to the MC but for some reason the MC starts an incestuous relationship with them(which MC dosent want) to what protect them from an incestuous relationship(with someone who does want them) it makes no sense, what is the point to this game at all because its clearly not to protect them from an incestuous relationship.

The MC is truly pathetic, crying when offered a BJ, simping over and over again, premature ejaculation, multiple femdom events, forgiving everything no matter how bad in a single conversation(the women get to be mad at MC for ages but he cant be mad at them for more than two lines of text).

Having the game as a sandbox instead of VN creates lots of broken stories in the game, even if you want to follow one character you cant once you reach the limit then you have to stop and do another character, then you have the character crossovers which makes everything out of order, characters being mad one moment but nothing the next, its a terrible way to tell a story, imagine trying to read 5 books one page at a time alternating between them at random.

Even the relationships are badly written as MC is trying to get on with everyone which is fine but then he accepts a committed relationship(meeting and getting approval from parents) while fucking multiple women daily and still trying to get more women, if the MC was not a nice guy it would make sense but he is a nice guy so why is he messing up peoples lives, its like none of the characters have had any thought put behind them as to who they are and just written scene by scene as such they have no character depth.

The writing gets worse with terrible excuses for not having sex, example: "we cant do this to your mum, she'd be devastated if she ever found out and we both know she deserves better" what does this have to do with your mum?, why would she be devastated that two consenting adults have sex?, she deserves better what?, is the mothers(who hasn't been your mum in 4 years) goal to prevent you from having sex and if so why?(especially as she knows you have been having sex).

With such a bad story with horrible writing and characters the only reason left to play the game would be for the adult content and while this game has quite a bit, it takes forever to get to and even then it includes stuff that will turn off most people(you will see an incredible amount of MCs dick much much much more than you think you will(i really cant stress this enough, you will get more out of this game if your gay or just love seeing massive dicks and have to sit through the characters talking about it as well, plus seeing the MC covered in his own cum a lot and on top of that lots of talk on how cum tastes).

The game dosent have any choices at all as anything but the right "choice" will just take you back to the "choice", so the only thing the "choices" do is see a tiny scene of NTR or not which takes makes liking the women or not off the table as you have to take all of them to progress.

There are long boring conversations about video games, weight training, books, general day to day stuff, social media, photography, food, movies, massages, religion, medical talk, etc... you could remove 90% of the text of this game and not lose any of the main story, they just talk for the sake of talking and its almost all useless.

Now for the good things about the game, the art is great both in characters and locations and while the sex scenes are ordinary the art is very well done, a time skip function is included which is very welcomed for this style of game and while there are very few images that are not dick focused or have some other very off putting thing in the picture there are a couple of good scenes.

This was really nice. Really funny story and has the right mixture of work and humor that all porn games need. We need more talks with Hunter since he sees his Grandson as his young image or at least as what he wanted his young image to be.

After every episode I assume it can't be any better, the Dev cannot add anything better, funnier, sexier than this but this man is just a legend, I mean after each episode the game is becoming more crazier with so bizarre dialogues, renders and animation. I always prefer a good story than sex scenes in porn games but this game is just something else.

TLDR: There are some underrated games on this site, and if I want to be a good dude, I'll review all of them eventually and stop being lazy. Power Vacuum is the blue ribbon winning bull moose of f95's underrated games. It is probably the only game that can get you horned up, then suddenly make you burst out laughing.

I've been following Power Vacuum since it's debut, initially for two reasons, the character model for Eva and Brenna's big ass. The initial release was somewhat rough, but the dev and his skills, the story and the friggin' jokes have improved exponentially.

Even if you don't find every character to your personal taste, they all have their moments to shine. Each one has their own motivation for their actions - actions in a plot of such ridiculousness, it really just has to be witnessed. Every character is trying to get one over on another character or screw the MC, often at the same time. The family, despite the shenanigans, actually feel like they care for each other. They don't simply exist as the MC's personal bodily fluid receptacles - they interact with each other, have motivations toward each other. You'd be surprised how rare this is in games like this.

The big draw is the humor. No one - absolutely no one sets up jokes so far in advance of the punch line/payoff. I've described the dialog as a combination of Aaron Sorkin's rapid fire delivery with Larry David's carefully set up gags. There's some Zucker in there as well, as some of the jokes are just sprayed off like machine gun fire with non-sequiturs and slapstick pratfalls.

Each update has seemed bigger than the one prior, with them coming in around 10 weeks apart. The sex has progressed with the main girls fairly linearly, but each update has a good handful of lewd scenes for the main characters and the ever increasing side characters.

As far as the NTR tag goes, it's part of the story's narrative that's mostly played for laughs. It is also easily turned off with a click with no real loss to the story's coherence.

To sum up, if you're looking for a laugh and some genuinely hot scenes, play this game.

Amazing game, creepily disturbing ntr that I wish I could scrub from my mind, definitely recommended just do what I should've done and avoid having the ntr infect your memory-it gets rewards first but isn't worth it for how mentally scarring it is

Total wast of time. The game is being developed for one and a half year for what? just some sex scenes with eva and malbourne because the dev is too busy creating renders for shit jokes, dungeons and dragons (fantasy that doesn't add anything to the real story), broken penis and hunter.

Really, the jokes are so shitty that i passed most of the time skipping scenes. Perhaps there were more sex scenes with hunter in NTR path than the MC... Because why not? better make sex with an disgusting ugly old bastard than the MC.

Also, there is too many clicks, to many tasks for no scenes. You'll suffer a lot just to get a singles blowjob, and it happens only at the later chapters.

Other than creating some bombshells models, this game has nothing. Thats my humble opinion.

OMG what a game! its there since 15th september but I played the seven chapters today... it's simple, great models, great story... little bit frustrating especially with Orphia. I liked the achievement system. waiting for more, you have all my support.

One of the most quality games around period. Would love to see the creator do other projects in the future just to get more of their writing style. The jokes are entertaining even if I don't know the context of some of them. there is a wit and charm that shows care went into the game and it's much better off for it.
