Prebuilt PC so I can get a RTX 3080/3090

So I'm highly thinking about just buying a prebuilt PC so I can get my hands on a RTX 3080 or 3090. I am in the process of making a VN and this 1070 just isn't cutting it for render times. Any thoughts?

Don't buy prebuilt rigs. Most have 1 really good component, 2 so-so ones, and the rest are usually trash because people who purchase these things aren't computer savvy so the manufacturer/seller stacks the computer with crappy hardware. You also have to be cognizant of component warranty if you're going to do a lot of rendering, and prebuilt computers are notorious for having short warranty times for some if not most of their parts.

Try to build your own rig, even if you have to order the parts and wait a few weeks. It'll save you a ton of headaches down the line.

I bought a prebuilt and then sold the 3080 in it for a lot. Replaced it with a cheaper model and it paid for most of the machine.

Always build your own PC, its fairly easy, however if you wanted a laptop then get a custom built one instead of some acer inspire shite

buying a gimped prebuilt to get a 3090 sounds like a very expensive compromise.

I'd rather make use of the rendering time by writing more. then get a proper set up when the 3090 drought some day finally ends.

That's about the conclusion I've came to as well but the only thing that sucks it this drought is unlikely to end anytime soon from what I've been reading.

if it's in your budget, nzxt has a build your own PC service

my brother went with that option. no complaints yet.
