I tried to create a box without internet access to test the Lilith's Throne, but it seems that the game does not start or load and the reason is that "javaw.exe" (Probably the Java executable?) cannot be executed (it seems that Java needs the Internet to work). Can anyone confirm if this is true?
On some games, mainly renpy, blocking network device access will result into a crash whenever they try to make a http request. So you could try to make a special sandbox with network device access for this kind of game and use a firewall for blocking the http request itself, ideally you setup your firewall to block all request coming from your "gaming folder".

I didn't try lilith's throne but lewd maze, another java based game, it works on my end.

edit: just tried Lilith's Throne, the exe version, it works without any issue.
edit2: not a ren'py issue

Do you have examples? I only play through Sandboxie without network access and I never had issue with Ren'Py games. Of course there's Sandboxie's the warning box but it's just a warning box and it never prevented the game to works properly.

It's been some years since I use this setup because I've less issues this way but maybe it got fixed at some point.

Anyway I double check with some of my favorites games and you're right, Ren'py based game seems to be fine, it was some of RPGM based game like from StudioNaze triggering SBIE1307 and crash. Running on a sandboxie with network device access fix it. There's other RPGM games triggering the same warning but without crash so the crash is probably tied to a specific version of RPGM.

I'm gonna edit my previous post, thanks for your feedback

Well, I don't know what I should be doing differently then, because I just configured it to not have a connection and I have this warning that it needs a connection, I think it's the antivirus itself (Kaspersky) acting but I don't think so, anyway, I should look for this in the firewall, thanks

How do i do that?
  • Open Sandboxie's interface
  • "Sandbox" menu
  • Select the name of the sandbox
  • Configuration
You don't have permission to view the spoiler content. Log in or register now.

Then select "Restrictions" -> ":Internet access". And from here either add an exe or decide to block everything.

Be noted that SandBoxie now have a full IP Filter (firewall) capability, but only Sandboxie+ come with an interface to configure it. With the free version you need to edit the .ini file yourself, what is, honestly, a pain in the ass even when you know perfectly what you're doing.
But for most of the use you don't need to go this far. You can reach a security level high enough by defining two sandboxes. One for your daily use, where Internet access is allowed for everything, and in which you'll run your browser and software like this. And one where all Internet accesses are blocked, that you use to play games or run suspicious software.

Last time I tried this program, if I were to run a game under sandboxie and then close it all off etc and search the game name through Window's Registry it would still find the game. Has this been fixed yet or is that still exposed to the system?

Wow, dude needs to pick a lane. Is the moderation overzealous or is it not punishing people enough for thoughtcrimes on this porn piracy site?
Personally, I think it falls into both categories and ultimately just comes down to which moderator happens to be looking at it since their have their own thoughts and some are more lenient than others and sometimes I'd say the mods may just not be seeing the context so something may feel off-topic or whatever when it's not but it gets purged because they think it is.

That sort of thing will always exist in some form, it's not like they are getting paid (to my knowledge) to be super strict and have a absolute consistency moderating style across all mods. OP should've just messaged the mods and enquired about why it was deleted so he could understand it or post it again with a different wording and tested the waters that way.
