I have a question, if you get caught, then that's it, there's no escape?

You can escape by mashing the A and D keys. It gets harder if you're more corrupted or if the enemy has a high level.

you can control the character with the arrow keys, but you can only use A + D for escape.

This is pretty neat, but birthing high level monsters that stick around between runs makes those subsequent runs very difficult when you start over at level 1 and don't keep points.
