Pulse is an adult visual novel set in a neon-soaked, retro-futuristic city, following a college student who lives a double life as a masked vigilante.



Pulse is an adult visual novel focusing on a year in the life of its player character as he struggles to balance the demands of his personal life (ie. school, friendships, romantic relationships) and those of his alter ego, the masked vigilante Pulse.

What you can expect:

• Dual-life story structure (personal life vs vigilante arcs)
• Episodic villain arcs (≈3 episodes each)
• Characters crossing between MC’s two lives
• Lighter romance scenes contrasted with darker, night-time action
• Choices that affect relationships and outcomes

Visually, the game takes place in a retro-futuristic city, with a number of cyberpunk-adjacent visual motifs, and takes cues from a number of stylized 3D projects, including but not limited to the animated series Arcane, and the Spider-Verse series of films. The game is made entirely in Blender and Substance 3D Painter.

The game has a number of characters who have already been designed and modelled, and I have been gradually revealing them over the past weeks. In addition, the entire plot has been mapped out, at least vaguely, so I'm hoping that once the first episode of the game launches I will be able to get the ball rolling in terms of regular episode releases.




Confirmed tags for episode 1: 3dcg, adventure, animated, dystopian setting, exhibitionism, fantasy, humor, male protagonist, oral sex, pov, romance, sci-fi, stripping, teasing, vaginal sex, voyeurism

Planned tags include anal sex, female/male domination, BDSM, group sex, corruption, multiple endings


Current status:

• Primary and secondary characters fully modeled and rigged
• Visual style locked
• Environmental assets mostly completed
• Story outline complete
• Episode 1 in development (no public demo yet)
• Episodes 2-5 written

I love the look of Dispatch, but I would say that's more in the 2D in 3D space realm. Mine is more akin to Arcane or similar stylized 3D projects.

The MC has a defined look, and isn't a faceless self-insert. I'll be revealing his look in the coming weeks. As for size/proportions, he leans larger than average, but not comically exaggerated. It should still feel believable and fit the tone of the world.

Small development update.

I’ve posted a second devlog, this time breaking down the game’s main city and districts (downtown, oldtown, etc.), with a focus on atmosphere and influences. Sharing a couple of environment shots below.




I’ve also introduced two of the supporting characters recently: Maddy and Misty. More details on them as development continues.




Lastly, we recently ran a holiday poll over on Patreon for a bonus character photoset. I initially stated there would be one free render and one paid render, however it's looking more like a full set of Christmas-themed photos.

Was away with holiday malarkey last week, but the grind continued. More drafts, more future-proofing (gotta get those updates out consistently once this releases ), and more planning for later episodes.

We also revealed April, one of our more morally grey characters. April is an ambitious reporter/podcaster, who will do whatever (or whoever??) she can in order get a scoop.



In addition, Drew (and a mystery character) got NSFW teasers for the patrons. I'm including a cropped image from Drew's post for your viewing pleasure

Update!
