Hi all,
I have almost finished to code my first game (Quantum Loop) in Ren'Py and I'm working on the art.

I'm working on a style all drawed:

Your opinion?

Thank you!

Girl in the middle looks a little weird. Head too big and top of the hair looks too short. If the girls looked as good as the girl in 3rd picture then it looks good to me.

The red green intensity makes me wanna barf. I'd suggest something mellower, easier on the eyes.
The second pic's cutout is too squared.

No, really. I kinda feel like i wanna beat the living shit out of you for showing me these pictures. The colours are so annoying.

It looks like you just got real porn pictures and ran it through some 2Dfier app (is there such a thing?)

I know there are other big games that use trace art or whatever that technique is, but they at least turn it into a proper cartoony style. With these examples... I don't see any benefit over just using the actual real pictures.

Ah.. I do remember playing around with Is this it?

:) Thanks for the honest review.
The background color is a placeholder for transparent color but I understand your notes!

Yes, what I have done is a collage of different images to create something new, the filter help to "hide" the border between the collage image.

I am an amateur drawer and I am also studying how to draw the female body in a realistic way (Drawing Beautiful women by Frank Cho). I'll post my progress.

Thank you!
I usually have a cartoon style based on short strokes, so perform a long line like boobs or back is strange for me, I need to take care of it.

About hand: is a copy & paste from another test (and you are right, are too much detailed).

I wanna suggest you go for the photo converter, cut the head, and paste it into a hand-drawn body but naaaah...

or do you wanna consider to draw a set of eyes/nose/lips with different styles/gestures, and a blank face to put them into? it's kinda easier and faster to set scenes that way. you can even let your players customize how their MC looks!

I started with the idea of using photo cartoonized (that i could still use for the background) but I want try using drawed figure and change expression/gestures etc... as you suggested.

It's time consuming but i have more control on it...

my suggestion could be more time-consuming at first since you are making and gathering your assets... but when you're done with that, it'll be easier and faster to setup scenes. and they're reusable for future projects!

Yes, you are right.

This is an example: same model, changed expression and added an arm (and melted vanilla ice cream).

But prepare all for the first demo will take time.

Luckily I have lost my job due the Covid, :cautious: so I hope to enjoy you soon with a Demo, and, if you like it, set a Patreon.

3d poser helps a lot as a guide. I've seen some awkward drawings where some body parts are, either on different angle or depth.
