You don't have to hold the players hand for the entire game, just for the first in game month. Just help them get through the first month of the game, so they learn how to do all the management stuff.Lucyfer001

I am some what conflict about how should I take this...
on the one hand I agree my game isn't the hand holding type,
on the other hand my friend who sucks at English was able to unlock the first few scenes without my help so...
What should we do every week?
Who are the important people to talk to, to get things done?
What's the routine?
In the first month, what should we accomplish?
After the first month, then the player is on their own, you don't have to hold their hand anymore because they know how to play now. I repeat, for the rest of the five years, you don't have to hold their hand anymore.
- Teach a man the basics of fishing and you won't have to hold his hand anymore, he'll improve his fishing on his own.
- Before sending a soldier into war, he needs basic training.
What am I supposed to do when I first start playing? I walked around and talked to NPC's and they just say generic stuff. After walking around for 20 minutes, I accomplished nothing.
For the first month, you could give advice to the player before they end the week.
if Week == 1 and playerEndedWeek and tasks = nothing:
"dear player, you're ending the week, but you didn't do jack shit, you should do this, this and this.
If Week == 2:
"try doing this and this.."
If Week == 5:
"you're on your own now, good luck. now you know how to play. we won't hold your hand anymore."
In the first five minutes of the game, let the player make decision based on your game's mechanics, experience a success, then get rewarded with an H-scene. Do that a few times and you'll get them hooked.
