If I download a compressed game rather than a standard game download on here will I be able to play the game like normal after unzipping the files? I already have to unzip files I've downloaded on here with 7zip. So I figured if I didn't need to go through any extra steps to use the game I should just start downloading compressed games since game files are getting pretty large and the compressed version seems a lot smaller.

Yes, you'll be able to play the game normally. Compressing is just meant to reduce the size, so the only thing you'll probably notice is slightly lower quality of pictures.
