I'm not particularly tech-savvy, so bear with me if these are some basic questions.
Sometimes I see games on this site compressed from 1.5gb to 1gb (which seems kinda pointless, although I suppose every little bit helps), and sometimes I see them compressed from 1.5gb to <100mb. I assume they're compressing at different ratios. Is there a reason there's not a more standardized compression ratio? Are there factors other than image resolution that go into determining an appropriate compression ratio?
I always dl compressed versions, but I don't know if there are circumstances or types of game that it's actually a noticeable difference in resolution.
