Question for VN Female Protagonist/Corruption Fans

A frequent topic of discussion for VN fans is whether it's okay to switch from the MC's viewpoint to that of another character. However, this discussion always seems to be about male MC's and the impact of other character viewpoints on an "immersive" experience via self-inserting.

I'm curious what the fans of the female protagonist/corruption genre think about this debate because I'm presently in the design stages of such a game.

Since the overwhelming audience for these games is male (not all, obviously) I assume the self-insertion concern is generally diminished with a female protagonist. And in fact male players might enjoy, for example, switching perspective from the female MC to see some steps that a male NPC is taking to seduce her.

Thoughts?

I wouldn't say I'm exactly a "female protag fan," but I enjoy some games in the genre.

Regardless of the MC's gender, I don't think you should feel limited to the MC's perspective. If multiple character perspectives can help deepen the story, you should exploit that.

But, speculating/theorizing, I think multiple perspectives could be particularly valuable in a female protaganist/corruption game because if there are NPC's actively working to corrupt the MC, then showing what they know that the MC does not should heighten the sexual tension. It's a sexual twist on the classic Hitchcock example of the bomb under the table.
