I actually played this quite a while ago but decided it's time to write a proper review. Rain's Rave is a game rather simple RPG focused entirely around tentacles and similar monsters. The game is rather short and quick to get to the point, not offering much in terms of story. It is implied(?) that most men in this world have been killed off creating a surplus of cute breedable girls, and there is some explanation for the tentacle's biology, but nothing is very deep. There's not much in terms of corruption after the opening scene, instead Rain starts out the game having been deflowered and is now permanently lewd. Honestly it's a little baffling the guild doesn't see any issues with sending her out on further quests after that transformation. A lot of the systems aren't exactly immersive, and require you to accept that you're just playing a porn game. Why for instance does a girl who starts out with a basic set of armor craft herself a schoolgirl outfit?
The game has a selection of difficulty options. I found "Hard" to give a decent challenge in the early game encounters, but it gets grindy when you get further into the game. Meanwhile "Very hard" will have the most basic enemy 1-shot you at level 1. And yet there is still an option beyond that. Difficulty can be lowered after starting a run but not raised again. Honestly doesn't seem very planned out. Different available skills and damage types do create some semblance of tactics in the game not making it a pure matter of grinding though. The game does also have it's occasional bugs but nothing that breaks it completely.
The artstyle is quite cute which I like. some side characters are lolis. Where the game really shines is in the sheer number of variations of the character portrait for Rain and its scenes. There are a number of lewd status effects, being drenched in semen, breast expansion, etc. combined with the different outfits for Rain, creating so many combinations you likely won't see most of them in a run. It's actually stunning how much effort must have gone into this area and it almost feels wasted on an otherwise so-so game.
