Appreciate the feedback! Honestly I didn't really consider the massive difference from linear to sandbox. That's definitely something I'll look into in the coming updates. Some notes for this update:
-There's a little tonal whiplash from the intro/prologue to spending 10+ days farming normal world interactions with the characters. This might get fixed with whatever plot gets introduced, but everyone seems remarkably calm and off-guard to just hang out separately at the lake/gym/park/whatever.
Each character has set location already, I just haven't added every interaction just yet so some locations are empty at certain times. With each update there will be more additions, and of course with more characters it'll feel less bare!-You might want to spread out things a little more in terms of what time of day stuff can happen. Right now I think talking with Yor in her room is the only thing you can do in the morning, and peeping on Cammie is the only thing you can do at night besides manually moving the clock forward.
-Along similar lines, having a rotating set of where each character is each time of day could help make things feel a little less grind-y. But I imagine that's a "Once I have more content in the game" sort of a thing.
That part is actually intentional! The next step in the story is something that will introduce that branching playstyle, I'm just figuring out how to implement it well-So far everything seems aligned with the more "wholesome" path. Is that expected to branch here or later in the story?
Again, thanks heaps for playing and giving feedback!!
