Really not a fan of F95 promoting AI/Deepfakes so heavily

I know this site needs to make money somehow, and clearly DeepSwap and SoulGen must be paying a decent amount to be featured front and center, but I really think the F95zone Staff need to reconsider their willingness to partner with companies that are promoting deepfake and AI-generated porn. Sure, you could easily say "this forum is at least in large part centered on piracy, and of course that requires navigating some murky ethical and legal waters," and I do think AI and deepfakes are deeply ethically dubious, but even beyond that, they ultimately are going to make all of porn worse. We've already seen AICG H-games coming out that are nothing but transparent attempts for a quick buck, and as this technology proliferates, it'll squeeze out the adult artists who make all of this stuff profitable—leaving it to be replaced by creatively bankrupt dogshit.

It obviously differs from state to state and between countries, but deepfake is not illegal in the US (on a federal level). AI art is also not illegal, although there are some lawsuits pending that could set precedence on the issue.

You know what is illegal pretty much everywhere? Pirating. Yea. You did acknowledge this, but the irony is still pretty rich.

Leaving the legal issues aside, let's talk about the ethical aspect. The mechanics of how AI art works is extremely complicated, and I don't claim to understand it perfectly, but it's not storing a bunch of copyrighted images to mix and match. It's trained on an abstract level using publicly accessible data. So no, I don't find anything wrong with the AI doing something that humans have been doing forever, learning from their predecessors.

Deepfake porn is a bit more dubious on the ethical side. It certainly has the potential to be much more personally offensive to the individuals. I might be biased as a coomer who has fapped to celebrity fake pics, and then deepfakes, of their favorite celebs, but even I cannot truly justify celeb fakes on an ethical level, only a legal one.

This is a case of freedom of expression/parody vs defamation. This type of situation has to be litigated on a case by case basis. There are a lot of legal hurtles for celebrities because of their "public" status. They have a MUCH MUCH MUCH higher bar when it comes to defamation. Non-celebrities probably have a pretty good chance to win such a case though. But celebs have other avenues of legal recourse like the "right to protect one's image and likeness from commercial exploitation."

As for your claim that AI/deepfake will make the scene worse or something, that's just your doom and gloom. You could say the same thing about any tool that gets incorporated into the scene. Someone who hates HS can lament the proliferation of that tool to create lameass anime looking models. Someone who hates DAZ can lament the standardization of this program leading the the same models in every game. Someone who hates real-porn can complain about inconsistent images/scenes. Someone who hates RPGM can bitch about walking around simulators. Tools are just tools. What matters is how they use the tools.

The only real issue I see is the lack of proper controls over the allowed output. Jailbreaking methods keep getting shared and even if the companies make a decent effort it might not be enough for lawmakers. And we DEFINITELY do NOT want this site associated with a CP-generating tool, especially the deepfake variety which might use images of real children as input.

Meanwhile the issues outlined by OP already happen anyway with the main driver seemingly being the rise of Patreon and the like as an easy way for malicious actors to rake in way more money than they deserve. But it also funds a lot of real devs who never would have stood a chance otherwise.

Next porn game will be made by coders. AI can't generate much without coding to assemble the parts, they are very bad in videos for now.

Technology is developing and no one can stop it, even if DeepSwap and SoulGen are not advertised in F95, it will be used by people to develop porn.
Relax, it's just an ad, he won't change the F95.

Is it really so hard for people to not click or view things they do not like?
I absolutely think "don't like, don't click" is a perfectly reasonable principle most of the time (and a principle, as NTR_Connoisseur pointed out, a lot of users on here could stand to learn), but I think there's a line between just hosting the content equally alongside other things, and making it a big fuck-off button at the top of literally every page. With the former, you can reasonably say that it's all just a matter of personal preference, but the latter, at least to me, amounts to a tacit endorsement of deepfakes.

It is not big. Maybe you got used to adblock, but throughout the years I've experienced truly invasive advertisement, and that's not it. Doen't even flash, and it's not even colored differently. Just a button at the end of a row. It is truly the definition of "Don't like, don't click".

Also, the presence of something here is not an endorsement: Staff are known to be gay and furry, and while they're clearly pushing this agenda, they still host gross vanilla handholding straight stuff.
