Update: We're pretty far into the game now, and so far there hasn't really been any sex at all, save for one scene that I can remember... which felt rather forced. To top it off, there's also not a whole lot of "adult" or "lewd" moments to make up for it.
It is therefore pretty clear that the dev is more interested in telling a story, rather than an adult story. This isn't necessarily a bad thing... it depends on what you're looking for. But fair warning. If it weren't for the one sex scene and occasional nudity, this would be a PG-rated vamp game.
In this specific instance, I consider this a negative. Vampire worlds are typically dark and gritty... filled to the brim with sex, violence, drugs, etc. This game has none of those things... in fact it's rather wholesome. I still love the game, but it casts a shadow over the whole "vamp theme."
I rarely give a star rating to a game that is in such early stages so this is subject to change, but I'm making an exception because I'm really hoping this game will receive all the attention that it so rightfully deserves.
So here it goes, my rating of Rebirth, Ep. 1 Up. 2:
First, I love the way we're introduced into the world of "vampires" and the lore we've been shown thus far. The pacing is very efficient as it doesn't really feel like a minute of time is wasted from where the story starts and where we're at right now. I don't personally have a "thing" for vampire stories, but I've never had an aversion to them either.
I also see a lot of potential for romance, as your little vampire-chaperone is incredibly beautiful. In addition the best friend who, while her model isn't really up my alley, makes up for it completely in personality.
To keep this short, here's my list of pros and cons:
Pros:
• Solid story-writing.
• Gorgeous girls with nice personalities.
• Some nice, crisp, high quality renders.
• Great backstory & lore.
• Okayish "gameplay."
• Great music! I really really loved the music.
Cons:
• We have to suck a dude's neck.
• Wary that developer may be too "PC" to implement male-to-female "seduction," "corruption," and "slave" elements that make "vampire games" truly "interesting." ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
• It's not a very dark vampire story: there's little violence, almost no sex, there's not much happening in the way of romance to make up for it either. It's a little too wholesome for a vampire universe.
If we can knock those cons right out of the ballpark, or at the very least not be too "PC/Patreon friendly" with what you allow players to do with certain females... this will cancel out con two and make up entirely for con one.
Overall, I give this a 4.6 / 5.0, with the potential to grow to a 5/5. Greatly recommend... especially to fans of my game (I know y'all will like this, so stop wasting time).
** NOTE: If you're put off by the "licking face vampire," just know that he did that against her will/she hates him and that's the only thing like that that's happened. As someone who personally dislikes NTR, this was NOT NTR.
