Happened to me as well. Took a look through the comments, a couple of solutions are offered. Try swapping to full screen and trying again - if that doesn't work, try setting supersampling to 2x (this is what fixed it for me)

Seemingly he had replied to me some months ago, he said he was planning on releasing a new version "soon", but obviously he has not, besides, all of his websites are pretty much dead, so we can deem this as a dead project.

new demo just DOESNT start, it opens a blank window for a couple seconds, i hear a clicking noise, and then it closes.
