Do you know how turn-based combat works in at least some of the final fantasy games like 7? It's like that kinda - when an icon reaches the top it takes a turn, though enemies can override your turn if you aren't fast enough

I never played mainstream combat, on adult games. Still not sure it actually affects anything, I just went too deep in the tunnels and attacked too many times.
