Probably not the place for this, but here goes anyway. Anyone have any idea why any and all Renpy games are now just "crashing"? I say crashing, but there are no error messages or anything, I play for a minute or too, then poof, it closes.

A little more information is needed before anyone can try help or even guess to what the problem could be.

hardware used, OS etc. also did you look in the game folder at the log file? Did you check your AV? etc.

If it's really "all Renpy games" and "now", then what have changed on your computer?

If a Ren'PY game crashes, it should generate an error log which is written back to a .txt file called "log.txt" in your main game folder where the game executable (exe) is located.

If you can paste a copy of the log file export here, we might be able to help properly troubleshoot your issue and/or provide further guidance on what the root cause of your issue is.

I would presume that some of your graphics drivers are outdated and might need to be updated if your game just crashes after a min or two of playing. Just me thinking out loud.

Yeah, like 45 mins later, Nvidia popped up saying there was new drivers. Installed them and everything worked fine again. So far anyway. Just forgot to come back here and reply.

Play with Task Manager open and see if you slowly run out of resources. Some lousy devs keep showing showing showing showing but never hiding, leading to memory leaks.
You could also change renderer (hold shift when you open the game).

I'll see what I can find. Sorry if I'm slow to reply. My work schedule is a bit overwhelming, so free time is a luxury I don't have much of.

I'll keep reading through it, but yeah, That's EXACTLY whats happening to me.
Seen the symptom, Ren'Py is probably less guilty than Python, so I tried to dig a bit on that. And among the many thread complaining about the 14900ks unstability, I found confirmations regarding Python behavior on it:
" "

And ; because pointed by many in the different threads.

So, after reading this thread and the ones linked talking of the 14900's instability, I dug into the bios. After some trial and error, i found that just by disabling turbo mode, it's fixed the problem. I've been playing for 3 days straight with no issues. Not the greatest solution, but it works.
