Ren'Py games only start shortly after my computer is restarted.

I have this really annoying issue where Ren'Py games don't start up unless I open them not long after restarting the computer as a whole. A window appears for them, but it's completely white and never loads the game - if I click on it, it'll tell me it's not responding. And yet, if I do open them shortly after a restart, they work fine even hours later (as long as I haven't closed the window).
