Ren'Py Hide UI function does not work

As described in the title. H/Middle Mouse does not hide UI in many titles, although sometimes it works early on in a game and then never again. I recall someone mentioning it was a known issue yet have found little-to-no documentation on it.

It seems more like a fuck up on the coders part than anything else.

Same problem here. Works in the beginning but stops working halfway through. I have faced this problem in many games, last two were:

tangled up

I'm having this issue and its very annoying. For me actually spoils the game. Did anyone here ever find a solution?
