VN - Ren'Py - Completed - Returning to Mia [v1.2.0] [Inceton]

(Man I wanna give it a 4.5 but still)

I am officially flabbergasted by this, its like SWM x 5 better. Holy shit I remember recently finishing SWM & my impression of it was a good fap material plenty of sex with an interesting finale. But this 1 is on a whole another level:-
-The story man this time felt like was actually written by a real writer. Usually I would get bored somewhere & I'll start skipping text but here I was more interested in the story than anything else. Sure I'm not saying the story is a solid 10/10 cuz there r plenty of stupid instances like we all new his gf is gonna visit sooner or later but after her arrival I expected her stay to be for a few days (1 week at best) but then she wants to stay for the whole summer cuz she misses the MC with whom she'll be spending every other day of the year was a pretty lame idea just to spite Mia, similarly the aunt blaming her business failure on Freddie Mercury is also lame cuz what freddie did is exactly what any business man would do to gain an upper hand when they both r in the same business so instead of making the prehistoric bar into something of current gen she just sits in bar ordering Mia to wear revealing clothes to gain more attention
-I was very impressed with the MC I definitely hated him in the predecessor where he literally blackmails, drugs & rapes his own family members but this time he really matured & was my fav character throughout the story
-Fluid sex animations though not a lot this time around still this feels much more realistic & u will appreciate the well written story.
Got to give to the Dev I am really impressed with their work felt like it took a total 180 from their previous 1 & all the more better it is. Can't wait for the next chapter. Keep it up

At first glance it's a seemingly decent game with mostly realistic dialogues, the renders are pretty good while the animations are absolutely terrible, they just look clunky and mechanical with no smoothness to them atall.
The characters are so so, I think Mia, Sadie, Isla and Cindy are decent and so are the dialogues with them mostly, on the otherhand Gracie, Vivian and the MC himself are gamebreakingly bad.
Gracie dictates everything like she was in charge of every aspect of the MCs, Mias and even Sadies lives, saying who can go where and do what and who's not allowed constantly.
Vivian acts like a bitch from the get go and even though you get some options to treat her somewhat like she deserves you still have to lend her a key, take her constant bullshit and cover for her in regards to her sneaking in and throwing lesbian poolparties at your "tenants" house.
The MC is just spineless, selfdoubting 21 year old with a teenagers mentality and the numerous inner dialogues that make up a big part of the game will make you cringe!
Just want to kick him in the mangina, the options and dialogue makes any immersion or self insertion pretty much impossible unless you're a total whimp.

Storywise the "plot" is weak at best almost nonexistant, what little drama and twists there are seem fueled only by stupid characters or the spineless MC.
It doesn't really add anything but some dramatic dialogues to the game.

If you had some choices to react harshly towards any and all who treat the MC like shit and not just punch a guy or two who's insulting or wanting to rape a possible LI then that'd be great.
This formula for choices where you are a whimp towards all wimen but become mike tyson as soon as any male is in the picture is kinda dumb.

Anyways I'd give it a rating of 2,5 but we'll call it 3 for good measure.(for now)
Some effort has atleast gone into the game altough I feel like this developer almost always produce the same boring and tedious MC and mostly the same females and scenarios surrounding them in his games.
We'll see if the game improves or not, I sure hope so because I want a good ending for the whimp and Mia ^^ or maby just a bad ending where the MC, gracie and vivian die in some horrendous accident.

If you just want pretty renders Id recommend it, cant really give praise to any other aspect at this point, the prequel while flawed was definetly better.

Girl
There is a small improvement in models quality compared to the previous game. While we can not really call it a personality, the girls are not one dimensional either, showing some qualities or treats along the way. Amazing. It was a pleasure to return to Mia and Grace and the newly introduced characters were good also. Cindy as a little slut, Isla as a milf in need of consolation. Giselle is amazing and I would love to see a corruption/NTR game with her.

Console
The voice is interesting, narating what act is following, but it did not worked for me. Also during sex scene you have 4 levels, from slow to fast that can not be changed in any ways. That brings a level of predictability to the sex scenes that I did not want and not a lot of value. The galery is not well organised and for some scenes are missing the intro part.

Story
I did not liked that the line of Cindy being a little slut was not followed properly. The same can be said about the dull sex with Mia, given what was already done in the past. There were few ideas that were introduced but not very well developed or that do not bring a lot to the story as a whole, for example the wresling competition. The end is a bit dissapoiting as you either end with Mia or a stud with some potential. I would had apreciated a
proper ending with the girlfriend Sadie. What is also a bit off is the fact that the girlfriend

Feedback on ep 2

The game is a nice and continue the story of the first game.
What can I say about the story is that, even if it is not a top novel, it is better then the one presented in the first game (second episode has a small twist at the end also). The small flashbacs of Grace are a nice addition also

Girl wise, the renders are nice, I enjoy the body of all of them. One thing that I believe it can be improved is the face emotion: at the moment there are very basic and you can not tell if the girl is sad, angrey, happy etc.

On screen you do not have the move forward, skip option. While this might make the screen clean, it make it harder for a new player to find out how to skip a scene.

I also saw a small bug: first time Vivian decide to swim without a bra, in the second scene she appears with the bra.

If this game came out two or three years ago, it would have been 5 stars. The renders are still good, the setup is OK (I don't ask for much when it's an incest game anyway), but the story writing is just f*cking boring. With the amount of games being available nowadays, I really wonder who endures these painstakingly long intros with ZERO substance. It takes an eternity until the game takes up some speed and even then the writing in between the scenes is so god damn basic and pointless. It feels like I've read this type of writing a billion times already, and if it wasn't for the good impression the first game had on me (when the game was still rpg maker!) I probably wouldn't even bother with this type of game anymore.

This was a really nice update. I would love to see more choices with Mia that can make or break your progression with Mia or Sadie. The ending to Act 2 was a nice Suprise. I wonder how it will play out in future updates.

I loved this VN and I was on Mia's path only and with superb control denied every other interaction and always chose Mia I loved the ending and may play for maybe Sadie's path later or fuck all run later but for now I am happy with my run after playing through the chapter releases one after another. Okay then I loved this VN and now onto other games and book.

Review after playing first few chapters

I had loved the first game and cried at the end and spent more than 10 hours trying to download the first episode and loved it and again cried and I enjoyed at the realistic interaction after all they have done everything together what else can they do and yeah let's see where does the story go something different should be done this time around after all both have PTSD from the first game. Again I loved the first game and loved this episode already played twice second time only saw the cringy interaction between MC and Mia. This time around so far he seems to have grown and doesn't seem like the asshole he was in the first game. Waiting for the next releases.

The game picks up right where the first one left off, it is nice seeing it in Renpy engine which imo is better, I am interested in seeing what the future updates have in store for the story, the characters so far seem interesting and looking forward to seeing how we make the bar over take the other bar.

Loved Summer with Mia so much I even tried the original but just could not bring myself to keep playing it after I played the Ren’Py version.. Summer with Mia 2 is off to a great start. I cannot wait to see how the rest of it goes!!!

Will start supporting you on Patreon just because you brought back Summer with Mia, Flashbacks to the event between summer with mia 1 and 2 would be a great idea to connect both timelines and there is a lot of content that can be reviewed between those 2 years, flashbacks to the first game was a nice addition and more of them, please.

Update for Ep. 3: We're currently three updates in and the game is still pretty good. However, instead of 'Summer with Mia' the title might as well be 'Summer with your aunt, your girlfriend and every other random bimbo chick in town..... and oh yeah sometimes Mia is also there'.

For a game that should be about you and your sister there is far too little content with Mia. So long story short: if you're looking for a nice (altough somewhat generic) visual novel, this is definitely a good one. But if you're looking for lots of sexy content with Mia it's probably best to wait for another 2 or 3 updates.

Nevermind... Ep. 4 was amazing! Wow.....

Perfect start for an anticipated game. This version looks better and character development feels more real too. The ending of the last game got me in a way I didn't expect a porn game to get me, so I'm very curious how this game will build off that, and so far so good. Expecting a special game.

With Summer With Mia 1, I had quite a few issues with the game, and while I enjoyed it, I thought a lot more could be done to improve it as there were quite a few bad things about it, namely the way the MC acted.

To give credit where it's due, Inceton soared with correcting basically every issue I had with the previous game. Instead of being a rapey dimwit who has no understanding of human emotions, the MC is now completely believable, has matured significantly and acts much more like you would expect from a human.

The follow up from the original game was excellent, it went exactly how it should have given how things ended and Mia's reaction especially was great.

The render quality and dialogue quality has improved significantly and now everything looks and reads much better. The story looks like it's going to take off really well and I'm very excited to see how this goes and how MCs relationship with Mia grows.

What a terrible sequel. The first game turned out pretty damned good. In this one though after the events of the first game it doesn't take your beta-boy long to start lusting after Mia again. You seriously don't have any other option it sucks because the first game seemed more open ended but this one your SECOND encounter with Mia after the reunion he is propositioning right off the bat. He comes across as a pathetic Simp.

Again the animations are high end but the story this time round is just weak as hell.

Summer With Mia 2 started out just as strong as Summer With Mia 1 ended. The story is simple, but the characters are likable, the emotion feels real, and the new models look great! There's nothing wrong with a good drama, romantic story

Great graphics, great characters, good dialogue, believable emotions.
The MC is much more mature compared to the first game, which is a nice change. He can still turn into a bumbling idiot some times when flustered but otherwise more relatable than he was in the first game.
Mia also matured somewhat but it's not that clear because of her seemingly hostile behavior towards the MC at the beginning.
The new characters are interesting. The females ones are very hot.

The restarting relationship between Mia and MC is bittersweet.

So if everything is so great why not giving it 5 stars?
Because I don't see where to go from here.

MC and Mia already went through all the bases, experimented around sexually and even became emotionally involved. If (when) they decide to restart their relationship it doesn't make sense to go through all of that again. A simple epilogue chapter added to SwM1 would have been enough to cover that.
But surely there will be some complications and there are also the new side characters! Yes, but Mia already left MC behind because he was sexually involved with their mother. And that was at a time when they were both horny teenagers and Mia was basically willing to do anything. Will she be ok now with MC fucking their Aunt or some other random broad who she is not even friends with like she was with Emma?
Or will she become slutty again and willing to do anything so the 2 of them can fuck around for another game?
And will MC suddenly become a horny jerk again after showing concern for Mia in the first episode and not wanting to destroy her new life and fuck around just after they started to make up?

Unfortunately there is no other choice than wait for the next update and see how the story goes.
I hope Inceton can create a good story with lots of hot scenes without ruining the characters and relationship built up by the ending of the first game and this first episode but until that becomes true I can't give the game 5 stars.

PS: I'm unhappy that the mother's character was removed from the new story and it was even stated that her relationship with MC ended a while ago.In the previous game she was the best chance I saw for MC to have some kind of a harem without totally messing up the characters. Now that she was removed from the second game I see maybe even less chance for that.
I hope that she can return in some future update and I hope there Inceton will make it possible to achieve some kind of happy harem ending maybe with her included.

I'll just be honest here. I cry over this love story, actually TWICE (at the end of SWM 1 and beginning of SWM 2). I'm not really sure how that happened, but I do know for a fact that this way of conveying the character's expression is very emotional, except for the MC ... It's okay. (Oh my God, I wish he was more expressive about his feelings).

Apart from the pretty good production, I just hope that one day in this game there is a way to please everyone, from the worst to the best ending ever.
(Please harem....hehehe).

I won't say it's bad. It's good, but I hate some things in story and it's my personal preference.

The fockin overdramatic predictable bs from Mia...I had not a single doubt that in the end of the chapter
, so clearly no surprises here as well. I understand there has to be some background for 2 years that passed. Things have changed.
. I'm hooked on story but although
Idea about rivalry between bars seems cool, very..and I'd like to see more of it and some interesting paths to help Grace with her business.

I've just completed first game and still under fresh impression, though didnt write review on that yet.

I just hope dynamic of the plot and relationship will drive us crazy instead of being slowpoke.

MC looks like dork. His face. Idk. On other hand considering his dumb brain mode from 1st part - deserved.

CONS:
- since SWM (1) second half of the game I believe devs didnt pay much attention to "who's dialogue line is that ?". A lot of times names not changed properly, aka Mia's calling Mia for dinner etc.
- Still no Gallery. It took shit tonn of pages at first game to save sex scenes. Even EoL has gallery, which is smaller project at first glance. Dudes, animations are really one of the best, idk ...there has to be a gallery. Most of the people coming for a wank. And there's no replay option.
- No sound yet. I've heard piece of track at menu, about 3 sec, then silence maybe smth on my end.

I was a fan of the first game, despite the light ntr. I was interested in the character development (I know, kinda a joke here) in the first game, and I am interested in the development in the second game. Will update if I figure out how

I’ll be frank. The majority of the first game I didn‘t enjoy at all. There was practically no story to speak of, the characters were far from likeable (especially the MC who was a real piece of shit), and the quality of writing was uneven at best. But I must admit, I enjoyed this first release a great deal. The story appears to have a clear direction now, the characters old and new have more depth to them (I can’t believe I actually kinda liked the MC), and the writing has definitely been brought up a notch. The devs made a great decision to pick up the story where they did because it really allows the story to have a fresh and revitalised continuation that stands on its own.

On the subject of ntr, from everything the devs have said, it WILL be avoidable if you so choose. So unless they’re liars, anyone concerned about that should be relieved.

To surmise, I’m really looking forward to what happens next and unless the devs really drop the ball, this could end up being one of the better games on this site. And honestly, I already prefer it over Echoes of Lust which has really started to just become dull. But I digress.

Oh, and I really dug that cameo of a certain character.
