Ren'Py - Reverse Psychology [v0.39] [Neytan]

Couldn't last more than 30 minutes. Characters are cardboard with zero personality, images are average, dialogues are abysmal.
The story literally starts with you going to psychologist, because you've seen your sister half naked and she didn't get angry. So traumatic.

Even though i found the story and writtin on the bad side, i still thought ill give it a try, most of the times story dosent make any sense like your doc gives you a BJ and show her extremly ugly and oversized tits after just 3 or 4 meetings like i said no romance, then you go to your friends house to check hes mother and you undress her since shes sick and she ask you to lie down in bed with her (sure lets make MC sick to right?) and for some reason MC falls a sleep even though he just got up and its morning.......then he wakes up to getting hes dick sucked by hes friends mother which we talked with like 2 times....romance gone out the window, and pretty close to being rape since she does that when MC is a sleep.

Its just poor and boring writting and its just yet another fuckfest game with no romance even though it has that tag but truely you just meet and fuck not much romance in that.

MC feels like a submissive idiot, who just let anyone suck him off, the hole acting supprised gets boring, "oh no what are you doing sucking my dick" next "can we repeat this later" meh....

The sandbox isent great not really sure why its there when everything is kinetic anyway so it kind makes it pointless other then just adding a bit of grinding for money and shit, it really dosent add any value to the game.

The LIs arent really hot in any way, i know its HS but ive seen alot better quality of HS then what this game has.

Same goes for animations they are meh average at best compared to other HS animations out there.

The lack of music also makes it even more boring, being kinetic where you dont have any thing to do other then follow a set storyline can get really boring without music and effects.

I've seen the dev checking for bugs on how certain folk advanced to certain points and got stonewalled when they should've been able to proceed.
I'm at one of those points myself. My solution is to start from scratch or far back enough I can advance someone elses storyline sooner or later.. . . . no bueno.

I got to a place where everyone's storyline would only advance after someone else was advanced. I have to meet agatha to proceed. Don't know any agatha. Don't know where to meet here. no hints aside from the conversation a ways back and forgotten because the game really isn't that memorable.

Is that a me problem? I'll take it if that's the concensus. It's also a me problem that this isn't that interesting. No worries, the dev and diehard fans will not have to cancel me to my way out. I don't plan on returning for this. Plus the nature of kinetic novels, the way the dev wants all content to be meaningful to advancing the story, and the way I seen some remarks on certain girls. All lead to a conclusion stating I'd be happier dropping this now than advancing and seeing additional content.

Very Good design, it's a sandbox but a well-made one, so you won't bore trying to get the scenes and I like the story all the characters all good regarding that... sooo this is a good one 5/5

Your family shrink has head-sized breasts, your sister behaves like a tsundere to conceal her incestuous desires from your mom, and your mom's boss is a secret alien. So far, so medium-grindy sandbox. The really ludicrous twist to this wholesome helping of Honey Select breakfast pancakes is that, by day, you diligently beaver around town to earn the usual stage-by-stage tokens of affection from all the women of your acquaintance. By night, however, and after a while, you make bank as a manwhore at the also all-female equivalent of a 'gentleman's' club. So: immersion is not on the cards. And our MC is too nice for dirty talk (despite much encouragement). But it's all good clean/dirty fun.

Generic HS game, in itself it's not a bad thing, but poor cheesy writing, unneeded and annoying sandbox, no meaningful choices (kinetic novel thro and thro), boneless MC aka "disgusting wet blanket" with cast of 1,5-D characters, good HS models with 'meh' to great sex animations, bugs and e-t-c.

It was quite good at the beginning when it had identity, but later it was bloated with some questionable mish-mash of elements (brothel, superpowers, random out of nowhere things, etc), becoming pretty boring read to sit through. (sandbox doesn't help situation)

All in all, it's not bad (sometimes good), but don't expect too much. Support dev if you liked it.

this is definitely one of the worst sandbox games i have tried here for me
over-lapping early events at the same time period and no way to identify WHAT period of the day it is or how many periods there are without guessing by watching a backwards revolving sundial (is it morning? early morning? mid-morning? answer = guess yourself)
easily the worst written exchange of a therapy session i have seen through the years on this site. a psychology degree from a cereal box

there is some nice art involved but as it is HS and is already used in massive abundance already on this site, its worth a glance through the image folder but nothing more. needs a lot of work

I like the game very much. The pictures look great and the story is ok too.
The tag superpowers irritates me. I still don't know where to find it in the game, but it's just a small thing.

What bothers me the most, and yes I know it is a "sandbox" game, is the "sandbox". You could easily make it as a VN, without the sandbox mode. Why? The story is clearly set and you can't deviate from it. Means, you can only go to work next to the story and that's it.

And in my opinion it's really grindy. You wait when and where the next event starts and go there. But you always have to look in the quest log to know what happens next. To do this, you have to click on each character, because who knows, maybe you are already so far that it now goes on with another character. This is very annoying and turned me off.

But otherwise a successful game that makes me fun, well except for the grind because of the sandbox. Therefore only 3 stars, as VN (without sandbox) it would be 5 stars.

The story is fine, it's a little different, the setup was kinda idk not for me I guess but as the story goes on it gets better, the writing could use a little improvement not talking storywise but having the mc go hehe is jarring to me, the characters are all different with personalities so kudos for that, I also love the club setup and where it's heading, all in all I've enjoyed it, I mean I'd have to like it to buy it on itch right,also there's no grind with the sandbox like the Dev could have just made it a kinetic VN given how everything works(could be a future option imo) But it's fine all in all I like it

Now on to something that's bugging the hell out of me

Rachel,Zoe,Melany and rose all look waaaaay to similar and it's very very frustrating also I think Rachel is just a character pre made in HS2 right? Or at least very close, Anyway thats one thing that bugged me, unless it's revealed they are all related in some way that's going to bug me until the end

It's not bad tbh, yeah i agree 100% it's not top heck even mid tier game but not that poor to have 1 star rating. I played it throughout and this one grew on me. There are plenty childish interactions and dialogues yet the game is enjoyable. Story doesn't make sense initially but if the variables are set at the beginning in our mind like x= has 'cest problems and sexual tensions y= mom doesn't mind but didn't like that either z= she recommends therapist aka horny toad. Animations aren't that bad and renders are relatively good. Sandbox isn't that complicated. Feel good game.

Just horrible.

Simple synopsis. You have spent a year isolating yourself from friends and not leaving your house. Your sister is disgusted by you and your previously close relationship is no effectively non-existent.
One day you wake up and decide to go to therapy, not at a practice, but at some random woman's house. And there, you discover the terrible secret that has weighed so heavily on the MC's mind and shut him down entirely for a year.
Get ready...
You.... saw your sister topless when you wanted to show her something on your phone, and she didn't mind!
But it gets more vast than that!

It turns out your sister has been waiting for this moment, is thrilled you looked, and takes a second opportunity to show you her tits when she barged in to wake you up one time, and is excited that your, obviously ginormous dick, poorly clipped through your clothes. Then later she forced her way into your shower and gave you a handjob. That night, you two slept together. And when I say "slept," I mean you went to sleep.

Your mother barged in the next morning to see if you knew where your sister was, only to see she was the little spoon.

Somehow, your sister blames you for this and now hates you. Your mother... doesn't seem the slightest bit upset with you in the story and is happy to hang out and watch movies with you. Really makes you wonder, if mom is upset with what she found but not freaked out, and willing to let you sulk at home for a year over this, why this couldn't all be solved with a conversation at home.
Short version, the drama presented is played off as a 9/10, and as shown is a 2/10.
Just stupid.

So, you go for therapy to a woman who looks like she has basketballs stapled to her chest, where each session looks like it would work itself out in 5 minutes or less... because why invest any effort in writing dialog, when you can try to cut off the scene as fast as possible, to make room for....
a sandbox.

Who are the other characters?
A therapist who is an exhibitionist/nudist who is on a mission to encourage you to accept nudity and sexual desires for family members, while proudly showing your her own body, nude pictures of her own daughter, and who seems to think that showing women your erection is the highest compliment you could give a woman, but that it has to be taken care of, because as we all know, if men get an erection and aren't immediately jacked off, we'll suffer... or something.
Oh, she's also trying to emotionally manipulate your mother into accepting nudity, and that you fucking around with your sister is good, because your sis is teaching to you be a normal member of society, and if your sis wasn't doing that, you might have become a rapist or something!

Then we have your co-worker. Seems normal. Maybe the best thing the game has going for it.

Your boss, whose obese and obviously abusive husband wants her to give him money for things, and she can't, so he tells her to sell her business so he can have cash, and this is somehow some huge drama.

Your best friend's mother, who, when introduced, you'd be forgiven for a assuming she was a classmate of him and you, as they use a model that would pass as 18 for her. Obviously she thinks she's old and ugly, so when you check on her when she has a fever and she asks you to strip her naked, she sucks you off because she's wanted you since you were a minor and she's happy you like her body. Healthy.

I mean.... look, I get not everything is gonna be Hamlet, but the writing (not withstanding a weird translation) isn't even Charlotte's Web. We're at closer to "see spot run" territory.

So, bad writing. It's a porn game, get over it.
Well, let's assume you want to get over the HS characters that seem to be on a mission to lower your expectations of what HS can do.
Let's assume you want to get over a barely there plot and drama that is laughable at it's most hard hitting and real.
Let's assume you want to get over the poorly written characters.

The game must still offer something else, right?
No.
Sandbox game where the only thing to do is pass time or work a shift for money that doesn't have many uses.
And in story scenes... no choices. None.

A sandbox kinetic novel.

But hey, you can at least avoid the girls you don't like, and focus on who you do, right?
Well... no. Because in order to advance the story, you have to advance every character. In order to advance other characters, you have to advance other characters.

So, it's a soulless sandbox, with a kinetic novel narrating a branchless plot that is written at an elementary school level, to lead you to fuck 'em all, despite the fact that neither plot, personality, or graphics, would make you even want to.

I'm not against what people would consider shitty graphics, if the story and characters are good. The story isn't good.

I'm not against a "don't think about it, just fuck everyone" game, if the graphics are good and the story doesn't bog it down. Well here, the story bogs it down and it doesn't look good.

Who is this left to appeal to?

The story is the best part of this game. It's a nice story that makes you feel good. The MC is also a nice guy, but not someone who overthinks everything he does. The last thing is something that I really hate when the MC does!

The LIs are pretty but just standard HS and I've seen them in other games. Even if the psychologist have very big, big tits, some others have small. So there are different types at least. The MC is well endowed but there's an explanation for that. Not gonna spoil with that.

The build up to the lewd scenes are good, not just "Hi, wanna fuck"! The scenes are Ok, seen better but even much worse.

The gameplay is fairly good for a sandbox, just follow the hints and you know what to do. But it's a sandbox, so you have to wait for the right day and time to do things. At least i's easy to skip time and you can quickly manouvre to your bed for sleep. Sometimes it's too much night time for stuff and nothing else, that's a downer. The house is also bad to manouvre in, it take some time to learn which room is which!

So, all in all, a 4* review from me. A little more work with the LIs, better to manouvre in the house and a better spread of events during day time and it would have been 5*.

Another novella with models from HS.

The story itself is not bad and very interesting in some places. The characters are nice too. The atmosphere of the game is very cozy, which is nice.

As for the graphics - fat minus. Standard models, with standard textures. Terrible white highlighting. Man, there are already so many mods for HS and HS2, why is it so hard to put a couple of them? Why can't you remove the highlighting? It's not that hard to do.
I hope the author will hear and correct these minuses, then the game will be very worthy and different from other HS VN's.

Wow! I forgot that I actually played this game. I guess I can review it.

Basically it's a small sandbox game where you live with 2 family members. Mom and Older Sister. The goal of the game is to complete quest lines that push you closer to deeper relationships with your family members/other women.

The main catalyst for this is the Big boobed blonde woman in the cover image. She's NOT the MC's little sister, even though she looks like she should be. NOPE! She's the psychologist. You visit her because you and your big sister have had a falling out. Your mother basically is at a loss of what to do because she caused the divide in the first place. She tasks you with getting to grips with it through the Psychologist.

As you learn, the Psychologist is VERY unconventional. She suggests things and is VERY liberal in her clothing... She convinces you Incest is right, yadda yadda yadda, you know the drill. She's there to open Incestial doors and she's a saint for doing so.

Models are basic HS2 models. Regardless of that, they look amazing. The big titted psychologist is my favorite. The small boobed Mother is also interesting and new. The big sister is so sweet. I like her, but I hope we see some more of her not upset with the MC.

The navigation is typical Sandbox fair. It's not too grindy, though it is a bit annoying having to visit the Psychologist ONLY in the mornings, but not on weekends. You can work at the store to earn money, it's a small amount of grind. It takes 3-5 days working at the store and you can afford anything you need for the whole update. The naviagation in the home could be MUCH improved. Sometimes it's hard to know where to go cause none of the doors/icons are highlighted.

It's hard to judge this game. I don't think it deserves as high as a 4 star especially for the content it lacks, but it doesn't do anything wrong and is pleasant all around. To me, that earns bonus points. It's a bit boring, it is a sandbox with not much story yet after all.

If you're not into incest there isn't a lot here for you. There are a few girls outside this, but the main girls are family. I don't remember the dialogues being too bad, but I'm sure there were a few typos here and there that can be fixed. All in all, I'm content with this game. The next update, if small, can really hamper my updated review though, so I'll stay frosty.

So far the story is fairly simple, but at the same time is full of possibilities, the aspect of the mental exploration can be an interesting way to explore the characters, it's too early to say but it shows promise.

On the gameplay aspect, the game its a sand box, but so far there is no grind fest to waste your time, the navigation whiting the house could be improved to make it less time consuming.

In the graphical side the game has fairly standard models, this is a result of the devs lack of experience with the engine, perhaps in time this aspect will be improved to give a more unique experience.

I still recommend this game to see where the plot heads, it's too soon make a judgement, but it does seem to have possibilities left to explore.
