Could have been fun if it wasn't for the pointless grinding... It's already annoying enough to do it the first time but you have to do it all over when you die.
I'm sorry the the renders are really not worth that kind of investment... at all.
2/5
Truly enjoyed this game so far. Great story and game mechanics. Cant wait for more. The artwork is pretty good. The only complaint is having to wait for more content as i can't get enough. Keep up the great work.
okay before playing through once i was hesitant about the character design and the story that it would offer but I think the creator is headed in a great direction with the story elements slowly falling into place, the whole mystery behind the world of magic we've stepped into and the incredulous adventure that awaits, its exhilarating to say the least, I love the otome love concept that they introduced for the mimi tribe, and if a better time frame could be added it would become a story about growing up and everything, also when the map enlarges this shit'll be magnificent to say the least. looking forward to future content.
This is an updated review. I first played and reviewed this game in the [v0.2.5.2] version where I gave it a score of 3/5. Now a lot has changed and I'm bumping it up to 4/5 for reasons explained below.
Genre: Sandbox stat grinder combat RPG with a lot of mechanics and story being unlocked by dying.
The story is a comedy isekai.
The lewds are at the time of writing this almost exclusively of the voyeur/spying variety.
Early access warning: This game is still very much in an early development phase and there's a lot to add/fix before it's a complete game worth sinking hours into. It's more than a demo, but not by a lot.
Positives:
+ Super unique concept & game design. It's unlike anything I've tried so far.
What I really like about it is how it poses some really interesting questions to the player, like: How much time will you spend on stat grinding and improving your gear if you know that you'll most likely fail and die at some point in the future, meaning it will then all be lost?
You can't skip the stat grind entirely because then any enemy you encounter will just kill you. And sure, if you grind a lot some of it will carry over as "titles" making the next run way less grindy, but it's also possible to go way overboard with it, grinding a lot more than necessary, creating a lot of wasted time investment when you inevitably bite the dust.
Dev is truly an evil mastermind. Damned if you do, damned if you don't.
The mechanics really reward planning and using your brain. At least in theory. There's still some really weird shit to fix/balance but there's a solid gameplay concept being presented here that I can really see becoming something great when there's more polish and content. This stuff really tickles my brain.
Neutral:
+/- Decent/good writing with some annoying elements. The inteactions between the main characters are often humorous and well written.
At times the author goes a bit too much off the rails with 4th wall breaks and references to modern things like Kpop and weeb culture though, so it's a bit of a mixed bag. The dev self-insert as Kermit was super cringy and unbearingly not funny. Just remove please, or at the very least tune it wayyy the fuck down.
+/- Scripted death. I'm unsure how I feel about this. I get that in order for this game to work, the player needs to die at some point. The best solution so far is the scripted deaths in the succubus dungeon where it makes sense from a story perspective and also lets the player figure out another way to solve the problem. I just don't know if this is the best solution, and with the stat grind being a bit over-the-top it always feels like such a slap in the face to die and start over. I don't have a solution for how to make this work, I just know that it needs to, at some point.
+/- I expected more lewds. Playing through the game takes several hours and there's not even 1 lewd scene per hour (not counting the nightly peep-scenes). Dev's next priority should definitely be on adding some more hot stuff. Right now it almost feels like an afterthought.
Negatives:
- Too grindy/repetitive. I think Dev needs to think long and hard about what kind of time investment should be necessary to enjoy most of the content this game has to offer. Personally I feel like it's tuned to 4x what it needs to be, or what is warranted given the story and visual content. I would also like to see some things change between "respawns" so it's just not always just more of the same.
- Combat is too grindy, with too many trash mobs to defeat. Killing wolves in different colours really loses its charm after wolf nr 735. The dungeons and guild missions are too long and repetitive.
- No auto combat feature, no hotkeys in combat UI. I feel like I'm halfway to carpal tunnel syndrome clicking through the shitloads of clicks needed to get through any combat encounter. Give me "auto resolve" button for when the enemies are so weak that the targeting priority doesn't matter. Make me able to press space bar to close post-combat screen and the level-up notification. Give me a keyboard shortcut to "attack first enemy in queue" to lessen my clicking pains. Just, clean it up, please. This clickety-clickety-click shit has got to go.
- 4th wall breaks. Story wise, where the characters discuss "oh but this is a 6-star dungeon it should have such-and-such level rewards" et c, and the lore about how the dungeons are somehow sentient and that everyone "knows" that they are in some kind of computer program was cringy as fuck. Numerical stat levels are for the players to know, not the characters within the game. Just chill it with the 4th wall breaks and save it for between respawns only. It's way too much.
Ok, so to summarize:
This is looking promising from a gameplay perspective, with a completely uniqe and actually kind of fun take on grind, which is why I'm bumping the score up to a 4. There's a ton of potential here.
But don't expect a complete game if you're going to try this, and don't expect many lewds at all.
I've just been through as far as I can go of version 0.2.3 and I found myself enjoying this game more as I went through what others might call "grind"
10 second review:
This game is different, it's funny and intelligent, and worth playing if you want to try something that isn't just a run-of-the-mill porn game.
To add a little more detail:
It's a fun game! The dialogue is intelligent and witty, and the characters and scenarios are clever and well thought out.
The graphics style is different, but in a good way. The style is along the lines of a parody cartoon-ish/clay-animation-ish 3D PC adventure game, which fits the whole "this isn't meant to be taken seriously" vibe of the game.
The stat building might appear to be grindy at first, but the dev has gone to the trouble of adding variation in the dialogue and scenes to make increasing stats more entertaining. There are some nice hidden bonuses mingled in with the stat building.
As the game itself will tell you, the current version is lacking a fair amount of desired content, but has provided a good skeleton for the content to be added in without changing the structure of the game at all.
Final point, a bit of a rant...
I've read a lot of comments panning this game and the dev due to the lack of porn so far.
If you want instant gratification, there are hundreds of fuck-fest games and websites out there. Have at it!
Some of us here enjoy the idea of playing an adventure game with enough lewd content to spice it up, but not enough to ruin the story and gameplay by making it into yet another mindless porno.
i have been avoiding this one since it came out. everything looked "Cute" but something felt off. IMO anyway i say a good review of it and said heck i'll try it.... I Love It , so sorry to anything i may have thought about you, this is looking to be a master piece i am still a wee child 'adult' says the captain. but i am really looking forward to what happens.....(like reading a best sell.. I.E. a book) much respect to the authors! fun read, sense of RPG without the 8bit look and feel, dialog and story writing is funny, intelligent and English. graphics are clean and simple. models are cute and rpg classic. LOVE IT
TL;DR [unless you absolutely can't handle the art you should probably give this game a try. It has done its own thing pretty well]
This is a review based on a game with a frequently expanding scope, so I won't really be focused too much on current mechanics or specific details as much as my impression of the game as a whole.
The first thing you might notice about the game is its art style. While I'm not really bothered by all the same looking honey select and daz games out there, it is nice to see a game where you can tell that effort has gone into the design of its characters. The other thing you will run into early on in the game is its humor. Obviously not everybody has the same sense of humor, but for me way more of the humor hit than missed.
The game isn't always super obvious about where exactly you should go to progress, but considering you are destined to fail more than once before you succeed in some things, I don't see the harm a game having unguided explorations as long as you aren't forced to find obtuse solutions. (which I never encountered in rewind) While the
I think the renders are funny with the basic faces.
Overall I like the renders but the gameplay is horrendous at the moment.
It's so grindy that I honestly can't play this game more then 10 min before I delete it again. Instead of having players waste time with with trying to level up their character, perhaps make this more directed. Currently you aren't guided on anything so you just end up clicking randomly for different tasks. With the latest update it actually made it worse by giving you more options to click on. I have been trying to go back and rate games that I have played to save myself or someone else some Mega space. I think this game could still be great, but the overall gameplay needs a complete overhaul in my opinion.
The renders are cute and, and the humorous story is great!
There is currently not much fapping material, but the story and game mecanics are a fun novelty for a first version.
As of now, you can only grind your stats, but the scenes and dialogs are varied enough to keep my interest for at least 40 minutes of gameplay.
I will consider being a Patron, if the story develop during the next 1-2 update.
