Good story, cool characters, great visuals. One of the best games on this site, hands down. Actually has vanilla sex-scenes that got me aroused (not something that happens regularly in porn games). I have little to complain about, except the fact that the porn and 20+ LI's and the need to give screen time to all of them regularly slow the story pacing to a crawl.

Hard recommendation from me. Just play it, you won't be disappointed!

Played it a few times in the past, but never got around to writing a review. Just played through it again because of the new update, so here goes.

PROS:
1. Good visuals (renders & animations)
The renders and animations in the latest versions look great, only beaten by the likes of Eternum. Obviously, the earlier versions don't look as good, but that's to be expected and is the case in pretty much every game out there (they're still good by the way, just a bit dated by 2025 standards).
2. The story is interesting and engaging
Choosing to write a time travel story was quite a brave move by the dev, as it can easily be ruined with poor writing. Thankfully, this is not the case. Now, since the game is still in development, there are still many things we don't know, however, seeing how your actions in the past may affect the present and interacting with characters from both past and present has been very fun and entertaining so far.
3. Great LIs
There's a decent variety of LIs, both in terms of appearance and personality. Models look good too.

CONS (minor ones, to be honest):
1. Repetitive music
The soundtrack itself is pretty good, however, the same song is sometimes used many times, so a little more variety would be nice.
2. Too many girls
In the current version of the game (0.8), there are around 20 girls in our "Contacts" app on the in-game phone. Most of them do have some sort of lewd scene or renders, but I'd assume we won't go all the way with all of them, which could leave some people disappointed. That being said, I do believe that the main girls will get more than enough scenes (some already have multiple sex scenes), only leaving some side girls with little to no content.

Overall, a great game that has all the aspects of a good VN figured out, with only a minor nitpick here and there. I'd rate it at 4.5 stars, which rounds up to 5 here.

With the most recent update, episode 8, Ripples has become by FAR my favorite HS game and it's possibly my favorite AVN out there right now. With how other more recent updates from other AVNs have been, Ripples is now my favorite AVN still in development.

Each character is delightful in different ways, the game is funny, it has a unique artstyle that I really dig, and it has 2 of my favorite LIs in any game in Darci and Jenny. Fun plot that's starting to get deeper and leaves me excited for more.

The only downside is the slower development cycle, but that's something I, at least, have gotten used to. Plus, Jestur has proven that the quality is worth the wait.

An overrated sci-fi AVN.

Story: Unfortunately I found this to be the least appealing part of the game,
the entire thing feels as if it's been written by a horny teenager, it isn't Bad per se, but feels awkward and cringey at times (or maybe I'm just old).
The Sci-fi aspect of the story is fairly interesting but gets bogged down in a lot of boring school stuff.

Renders/Animations: I have a pretty big dislike of Honey Select but for some reason in this game I didn't mind it, the renders/animations are by far the best thing Ripples has to offer.

Characters: The MC is an immature pussy magnet who the girls in the game can't help but throw themselves at, a lot of the female characters are, unfortunately, pretty bland and lacklustre making some (not all) feel flat.

Overall, it's a game dragged down by "meh" writing where decisions often feel meaningless and some choices feel shallow.

The storyline is awesome. You really get to know the characters. Graphics and animations are top notch. I can't wait for the next chapter to come out, I'm so invested in what will happen next. I won't leave any spoilers but the last chapter ended with you wanting to know what happens next.

Review for version 0.8.0
I enjoyed this game before and have been following it for a while. I have to say that the quality has skyrocketed in this most recent version. The renders have always been good, and the animations were quality. However the animations in this most recent update are exceptional.

The story is very interesting and I'm looking forward to seeing where it goes. There are an array of personality types among the love interests that are all being fleshed out in an enjoyable manner. In terms of branching I don't think there is meaningful difference in the story that would make it worth multiple playthroughs to see them. Its much better to simply use the mod so that you can see everything in one playthrough.

Any VN enjoyer should find something to like in this game. I strongly recommend giving it your time.

Been a while and Idk how I missed it.

Story and Writing is really good, the funny stuff is not cringe or too often, it's just pin point. Really love that.

Characters are also great, Jestur made them really different, realistic, it's not just some dumb stereotypes with 0 backstory. They're all interacting with each other and you don't feel like the supreme MC controlling everything.

Models are very good, each model are very well done, outfits are really GREAT, their own style and all. Other males than MC seem a bit goofy so I hope to see more variations. Tho I feel like it improved on the last patchs.

Animations are just perfect, close/even to other games of the same god rank like Eternum or Pale Carnations. It's a 10/10 for me.

Audio, good effort on that, been a while I didn't hear some good stuff like that.

About kinks and scenes, it's not too vanilla there's just the good amount of scenes for each characters and they're very adapted to the mood. Hope to see more kinks covered but we're really on smth. Hope to see more rimjob (MC on females) and anal.

Absolutely love this AVN the story is intriguing and the models and renders are beautiful! This latest update is great! I am torn between all the love interests, Between Scarlett and Jenny I cant make up my mind! Love the work you do I am hooked keep it up!

Interesting premise. Regular updates. This is the real deal!

I'm really impressed with the way this game continues to develop. Other games like Desert Stalker and Harem Hotel improve by challenging the devs technical abilities.
The technical capabilities of the Ripples dev continues to improve as well but they primarily challenge themselves in creating more interesting narative situations. This is good because it keeps the game exciting, novel and entertaining. By comparison Desert Stalker and Harem Hotel have become increasingly more complicated and harder to play.
I'm absolutely obsessed with this game. I can't wait to see what happens next

5/5 - A Masterclass in Visual Novel Plotting

One of those few AVNs that deeply touches your heart is Ripples. Even in the opening moments, it drags you into a place where the pantheon of choices feels important, the people are vibrantly and palpably alive, and the narrative is grown-up, emotional, and perfectly modulated.

The main character is not your stereotypical overpowered, or stupid Main Character, the main character is relatable, imperfect and well-written. The decision points are indeed consequential, and different paths and scenes will create unique experiences that will make a second play through interesting and fulfilling.

Ripples really excels where it is most important, in emotional sensitivity. It is not only a story of lewd content, though in its content, what exists is done tastefully and it is simply breathtaking, but it is a story of connection, loss, hope, and healing. All of the girls in the game are given their storyline and none of them are one-note or contrived.

The visuals are superb, very possibly the finest renders and animations within affable AVN. Soundtrack is worth of a special mention, too, as it perfectly compliments the atmosphere and contributes to the immersive experience.

Conclusion Overview A recommendation If you enjoy adult games that play with tough and mature characters, and expect quality writing and art, Ripples is a game you must play. We can see that Jestur has given his all into this job, and it surely reflects.

Great story, and beautiful girls. I can't get enough of Skyler or Scarlett. Excited to see where things go with Alyssa and Alice as well. My only concern is with the pacing. Almost a year between episode releases, and I feel like there' s still so much story to cover. I know it'll be worth the wait, I'm just impatient I guess.

Fantastic game, blending romance and time travel into an unusual but very appealing package

The story is great. We have an MC trying to find out more about his father's past, and inadvertently gets sent back to the days of his mother's youth. Along the way, he encounters a number of different characters, some twice, in their past and present forms

All the characters are unique and appealing in their own ways, with a ton of character development done on the major LIs. We're supposed to care about these characters, and we do. Interestingly, there's also decisions that the MC can make which can reshape history, which he does in many unexpected ways

While the graphics aren't the best out there, the fact that each character design is unique, and they come with a ton of personality apiece, from MC's conflicted older sister, to the redheaded twins he meets who are polar opposites of one another, to MC's best friend and potential future girlfriend, amongst many others, there's plenty to enjoy about this game

Ripples is a romance and sci-fi visual novel with deep story, emotional moments, and strong characters. It's more about the journey than just the adult scenes.

The renders are consistently high-quality and well-lit. Character models are beautiful and diverse without looking overly generic.

If you're here just for lewd content, the early parts of the game might feel a bit dry. The focus is more on story and character development at first.
– Some Side Characters Are Underused
While the main cast is fleshed out, a few secondary characters could use more attention or involvement in the story.

The game is still in development, and while updates take time, each one adds solid content and story. If you don’t mind waiting, it’s definitely worth following.

Art, plot with suspense and humor. One of the best in my opinion. I thought it may have been getting a little too busy for my taste, but it seems to be moving along just fine, for now. I mean, it is a big game.

• What can I say? It just works. The combination of high production quality and inspired effort shown in Ripples stands out in the field of adult VNs.
• Creative and carefully constructed sex scenarios, with above average sound design. An adult scene lasts many minutes. There's buildup, intimacy, copious foreplay, women getting off, fun and sexy dialogue, positions, finishing, afterglow. The sound effects are tasteful. The creator clearly has a great understanding of what makes things hot and satisfying as a consumer of it, not just narratively, but also cinematographically speaking. This alone elevates this game above most of the top rated games in the field. Those little details in the animations, like when characters kind of roll up their eyes in pleasure? Absolute cinema.
• High-quality writing that feels professional. The script is fun, cute, interesting. Characters have distinct personalities, and you want to see more of them. The banter doesnt make you fast forward all of it immediately. It's amazing how a good writer can elevate almost every aspect of such a game. I think this might be the best I seen in the genre on a metric of "average quality / line"
• Numerous animations and renders with attention to detail. None of those terrible Honey Select catatonic seizure orgasms and creepy weird smiles. Its probably not on the artistic level of Eternum, but it beats pretty much everything else.
• In the microcosm of adult VN beauty standards, the character models body proportions are on the more realistic, real-life side. No backbreaking inflated balloons and brazilian buttjobs. Sadly rare, but highly appreciated.

CON:

• generic, stock Honey Select assets, which dont really look good. In terms of the creativity and pure technical quality of the models and textures, there could be big improvements. All of the girls hair stand out as being the worst of the bunch, closely followed by faces. Eye shapes and facial features feel repetitive. Middle aged people dont look middle aged, old people dont look old. The men are the exact same characters like we seen in every other Honey Select game.
• Way too many LIs. I know... it's a harem, what are you talking about? But hear me out. I think this is a pitfall of many harem stories. When the writing is so good and characters feel interesting, I want the content to be tall/deep, so I can spend more time with these interesting characters. But instead you only get to barely meet and spend time with these interesting people, which feels like a disservice to the quality of the writing. There are so many girls in play, it's implausible to imagine there ever will be enough time or content for them all. When the development inevitably ends, I cant help but to feel thid will feel somewhat dissatisfying.
• The usual trope of MC having a life-threateningly enormous penis, the prettiest, biggest, irresistible and addictive. One way or another, most sexual scenarios boil down to revolve around this, constantly talked about, constantly yearned after. MC slams his monstrosity into everyone and its the best experience they ever had. I find this the most tired trope in adult games. Don't misunderstand. Everyone being attracted to MC is a hot fantasy. But why does it have to be because of the comically large dick every time? For the record, every other adult game does this as well. So it's not like this would be uniquely bad about Ripples. With all that said, the whole thing is a pretty vanilla experience... you're definitely not going to live out your fetishes here, unless it's a woman taking control sometimes. Or being in a blindfold. But that vanillaness, is a very well-executed one.
• Camerawork in sex scenes could be better, but its already better than most. The situations where I felt that it's a bit cheap for example: the same blowjob animation is shown from north, east, south, west. That's not really different "angles", and don't really add value... or the least, just the minimum effort for variety.
• Please, no more "I have to talk to Jenny about working at the power plant". For god's sake...

As a final word:
One of the highest quality adult VN games I ever played. If this would be the new standard, luxury space communism must not be far away either. Highly recommended to anyone who are into a spectacularly executed, mostly vanilla and entirely straight experience. For many this will be their favorite, and I can clearly see why.
