You know what annoys me about the comic canon at the moment? The writers and editors keep trying to make the mutants super unique. Okay, I get it, it makes it easier if everyone is a super special snowflake because of their powers. But sometimes, I just want to see them get mixed up because several people have the exact same powers.
Like:
Cyclops: "Hmmm, we're going to need someone who can handle getting shot with acid or caught in an inferno....Get Dave."
Iceman: "Doesn't really narrow it down, Scott. Do you want Scottish Dave? Chinese Dave? South African Dave? Boston Dave?"
Cyclops: "...Better make it Chinese and Boston Dave."

Pray that no Marvel writer stalks this thread, otherwise we'll start reading about some "artificial mutant created by Xavier in a plan concocted to manipulate the disturbed younglings of his someday to be Island State of Orgy whose memory was messed with and led to believe he was immune to all mutant powers, when in reality wasn't immune to Xavier's and everything that happens is an act" which would probably end up with some interdimensional-extratemporal-multiversal mumbo jumbo where Jean pulls a JK Rowling, making Zero gay and therefore thwarting Xavier's plan (who actually was Thanos in disguise) of corrupting minors into creating his dreamed Island State of Orgy, and culminates with Gwenpoop dying of an overdose when the credits rolled as she snorted all of them.

It was always fan fiction. Nothing has ever actually been canon, not since we got rid of the Mutant Pope anyway.

Who is in the running aside from Wanda? Evo Wanda has mentally erased all the other girls from my mind. The only other X-women I can think of are Mystique that background one that shits icecream, who i wish wasn't canon.

If I remember correctly from the last vote, there's Lorna, fucking squirrel girl, and Gwen. Probs gonna be another girl added to the list. Psylocke seems popular here so maybe her?

I think time could be better spent implementing more X-Characters. Adding some meme character like GwenPool to the game just sounds like a waste of everyone's time.

Oni could add Wonder Woman for all I care, as long as he doesn't have to phone in another girl like Jean. Even Ororo was a little sloppy if you ask me.

I heard a funny thing I heard about the current House of X meta-arc the writers wanted to move on to the conclusion of the current unstable status quo, but the editors ordered them to extend the story-line because it was selling well; if that sounds familiar it's more or less what happened with the clone saga.

Curious that they both revolve around cloning and resurrections. Clone Saga gave us some cool if undercooked characters, has House of X?

I've mostly quit reading comics from the big two , but one of the last developments before I stopped was a writer made a big deal about finally establishing an actual personality for Polaris, whose been a bit of a satelite character to her father and Havok, and then lost control of the character when a gimmick online poll put her on another book and their own book was canceled not to long later.

A friend of mine once told me that nowadays comic characters are like a toybox for kids who simply reuse them time and time again in different scenarios, every time more absurd and weird. Which translated into adult writers means they keep recycling bullshit, shipping, killing, resurrecting, cloning, brainwashing, power creeping and fisting into eternity. I think that whatever character they made has lost it's purpose long ago, anyways.
