It's more to the idea that this question gets asked very very regularly in threads like these, and the answer is always the same. Asking it over and over again is annoying to many of those that participate normally as, not only is it stale, but also demonstrates an inability (or unwillingness) to participate in the thread or community and only superficially make requests without giving anything back.
It's generally frowned upon, and while it's not uncommon or unexpected, it's just commonly considered to be not very good etiquette. Besides that, Oni (like many indy game developers that work through patreon) is not super reliable when it comes to sticking to specific dates. He tends to give generalities in expected release schedules, and with the information he gives being of a very "soft" nature, it doesn't do much good to pin up a message that tracks an ETA so general that even the person giving it cannot name it beyond "A few weeks, maybe more". You could honestly just pin a post that says "ETA is a few weeks, maybe more." and leave it pinned for every release, and it would remain accurate. The truth is that it will come out when Oni says it's ready, and who knows when that will be.
Finally as for "how you'd do it", no that's not how you'd do it. You wouldn't do it at all. That's why you're here being a choosing beggar instead of posting something useful or trying to participate meaningfully in the community.
