So I've been playing around with an idea for a game I came up with, but I'm a little concerned that a lot of people might be turned off by the premise of the MC falling into the position of managing a strip club, where most of the romanceable characters would be strippers. Now I'd of course make them well developed, multi-dimensional characters who have a lot more to them than just what they do for a living, but I wonder how many people would immediately write them off as being sluts or whatever, while shouting about NTR from the rooftops. i'm interested to hear what your own personal thoughts are, and while you're at it, feel free to list off anything else about romanceable characters that instantly make you tap out.

And below, I've decided just for fun to add a few pics of some of the ladies you may be getting to know in the future. So let me know what you think about these, too. ;)

If you're worried about people screaming NTR then just stick to a scenario where all girls are virgins and the Mc is the first male they interacted with.

People will always find reasons to complain about whatever game you make, there's no point in worrying about that, just do what you like the most.

Can't please everyone, make the game you want.

If you really wanna make it as open to people as you can, make any scene featuring the girl with a customer Optional to see, and don't have them directly talk about what they do with other people, or reference other people. Make that sort of dialogue optional.

Regardless, people will play the game if it's done right, you'll just miss out on a few of the more people who are uncomfortable with sharing.

Hi,

To be frank you don't give enough information about your game to make a definitive statement about it.

Management game?
VN with choices/stats
pure strip only club? brothel?
is the MC only a business manager or a pimp? (or both)

Background of the strippers:
- pure Pro
- College Girls who need money?
- Wife who does it for cash? Kinks? other?
- Hooker/Stripper?

Motivation of the MC?
cash?
sex?
Relationship?
the 3 all together?

Would he be a "nice guy" or an "abusive boss"?

====================================================

Now, as far as "strippers" are concerned - they can be nice person (with a good soul) too
(it's obvious they would be HOT)
- turn-off would be substance user.
- her not being interested ofc (lesb)
====================================================

what concerns the rest is a matter of personal kinks - some people will ask for corruption - mind control - domination and so on...

Unless you want to make a (yet another boring) harem game - I won't pass judgement over you til I have more context ;)

A turn off, never would date a stripper or ex-stripper. If I can her naked for couple of bucks why would I pay for the dates?
inb4 she could have deep personality 'n' shit. Maybe, but probably personality that would not suit my preferences.

But don't get demotivated with my opinion and do what you want.

" MC falling into the position of managing a strip club, where most of the romanceable characters would be strippers. "

Realistically this is recipe for disaster in both intimate and professional level.Girls who MC don't romance will blame him for showing favoritism and his boss is likely to kick his ass out.
On the other hand if you are passioned about the concept-do it. Great disasters often make great story after all.

You absolutely shouldn't do that. That's actively watering down the very concept of your game to appease the "I only talk to virgin waifus" crowd, which just doesn't work with this setting in the first place. Either stick to your vision and risk alienating those people or make Big Brother knockoff #2517 if you want more mass market appeal.

I really don't think you should care about other people bitching and just stick to your own vision about the story.

In regards to the romance able characters I personally wouldn't really be bothered with them being strippers as long as that's all it is and they aren't taking customers into the VIP room to fuck them.

The characters personalities are more important to me liking them than their jobs as strippers. Two of my favorite characters from Being a DIK are Nicole/Envy and Lily and they are both strippers in that game and are still popular with fans of that game.

I personally have never been to a strip club but I'm assuming there are really strict rules about touching the workers so that wouldn't really be an issue for some people. Depending on how hard you want to lean into the management game play you could also allow players to have the option to have their chosen love interest work behind the bar or as a waitress rather than as strippers which might make people less annoyed.

I should stress, I did say I felt they shouldn't bother with it, but if they really wanted to rope in those that wouldn't like it, that's the sort of thing they could do. I don't agree with it myself, but it's an option.

Sex workers are people too and this seems like a great idea, if not for 3D. Also, I don't get the hate for NTR, why do people treat it like it's the second coming of Hitler?

In my experience, games that advertise a certain scenario or fetishes, and then during the development downplay them in favour of pleasing a wider audience actually end up with the worst of both worlds. They lose out on the people who wanted the "extreme" things that were advertised, and the wider audience you hoped to win over turn out to not like the game that much and just went for the biggest targets when expressing their dissatisfaction. In other words, a strip club manager game that plays like any other harem/romance game with no (or very little) mention of the girls doing their job sounds like a bad idea.

Also "are sex workers deserving of love?" being a controversial topic is very sad.

I really like Carli in Depraved Awakening, she's a prostitute but we don't get magical camera voyeur content with her and her customers. Also her personality and the way the romance with her progresses endears her to many people (me included). Honestly don't solely blame Anti-NTR people of the current climate in Adult VN scene, it just got worse because of some devs and their games in the progressing years. Also just searched "Carli NTR" in the Depraved Awakening thread, there's nothing (there's probably something) about her getting flacked only another character, the slutty widow whom you see have sex with another character.

You should just add a "No NTR content" in the Original Page, unless of course you are adding NTR content. Also there should be transparency with the Love Interest, nothing sours the mood than spending a few sweet moment and flirtations with a character then you find out she's got a boyfriend with the cliched "I tried to tell you." Also the "fucking the strip club owner" scenario ain't original. Honestly just write what you want, but for real though negative stereotypes will get you flack and null support.

Also logic breaking scenarios like "my boss fired me for no reason" which is actually illegal IRL will get negativity and of course I direct you to check out the criticism on the Triple Ex thread (MC's shitty sister whether you like it or not has sex with all female characters and also the stupid story) and also The Island thread (MC has a hotel room party with 8 women, then out of nowhere you aren't given a choice to not invite the male hotel employee who gets to bang and creampie one of the women). People like a competent story.

BTW everywhere has Anti-NTR mentality not just this site, pretty weird that a few people hold their head high with the definition of NTR when the majority says otherwise.

If this is a game then idc if the pursuit is a stripper or any other sex worker, if its irl then i think strippers would be great partners for male strippers, same goes for pornstars/sex-workers/gigolo's
