Type xattr -cr with a space behind it and then drag the .app-file into the Terminal. This puts in it's full file path. Then press enter and try again :)

Just tried this, the app icon bounces twice and still doesn't open. This did seem to at least let the command work, so thank you for that advice. Will keep trying to figure out what I'm doing wrong later today. (I promise I really do appreciate you telling me to drag the app directly into terminal, should have been obvious)

You might also want to try

chmod -R +x (with space at the end) and then dragging the file into the terminal again, after that, press enter.
It's a bit "overkill" but it makes every file (-R) in the app (which technically is a directory) executable (+x). Helped on my end a few times, too.

Please also try the command

open followed by dragging the file into the terminal. If it still doesn't launch, send a screenshot of the error it shows here.

Most RPGM viruses only target windows because the engine is built for it, but very little is stopping the bad actors from also attacking MacOS.

Some steam games use steams achievement system, which doesn't work on the launcher. On windows the "crack" should fix it but it's not compatible with MacOS.

There are some hacky workarounds you can do if you're willing to edit some code but it's a bit complicated.

Hi there, when trying to play Succubus Academia with DLC I get a couple of errors. The base game works fine, but when you try adding the dlc pack (it's just a new www folder that you add to the existing game) it bugs out and won't load the game. I've tried to merge the included new www folder into the original ww folder. I also have tried replacing the entire www folder as well but no luck. I don't know is the maker isn't reading the files properly since it seems on windows people can play the game with DLC. Anyways, here are a couple of errors. When you launch the game with the maker it boots up the game and shows this.
You can keep hitting retry and it'll add another random file saying it failed to load.

Any plans for RPG Maker VX Ace RTP compatibility? I cant seem to launch games created using that version.

It should be supported already. Try uninstalling mkxpz and reinstalling it. If it still doesn't work, send me the logs here.

Any known fix for the reference error "DataManager is not defined" Looks like no from older comments but wanted to see if anyone found a fix since then.

can you post the full log here

It's most likely erroring because of some insanely long folder names, try to shorten what you can.

Oh, you probably selected the game folder as the output folder, don't do that as it loops infinitely.


To fix it, delete DW.app from the game folder, and when exporting, select a different folder like Downloads or Desktop.
