I recently installed Windows 11 on a new PC and wanted to replay some games that I bought from DLSite.

I was trying out and everytime I run it, it just says 'File corrupted ! Please run a virus-check, then reinstall the application.'

I have my system locale set to Japanese and also restarted the PC right after I set it to Japanese. At least I believe this is how it is for Windows 11. Not really sure why the game folder is not displaying in Japanese. I also installed the VX Ace RTP, deleted the game and re-downloaded it from DLSite.

I was wondering if anybody can lend a hand on figuring out how to fix this problem.

Looks like you're running into an issue of mojibake aka character transformation. Use this to fix the zip you get from dlsite, unzip the fix, and run it. It should work.

Also if you don't want to change your locale every time you play a Japanese game you can just use Locale Emulator to run your games in Japanese.

I just did that and when I run the game, it still says File corrupted. Same thing as the first screenshot that I sent.

Try using Locale Emulator if you haven't. If you still see mojibake then something odd is happening with your system.

Ah, it runs fine now. I was hoping I didn't have to resort to the Locale Emulator since it worked fine on my previous PC on Win10. Appreciate the help! I guess the only problem was not taking all the advice that was given, my bad
