Rune Factory Harem

Hey y'all, Echo here!

We have been working on a Rune Factory Harem game being developed in Ren'Py, and I would personally like to give updates. Partially as a way to gauge interest and suggestions, but also to keep us honest and accountable.
First, we have some information from a previous post:
A few things we will be looking to get a handle on before the first release, in order of difficulty.
1: Custom UI.
- As we will be working in Ren'Py, the UI is very important to getting the feel of the experience.
- A Lot of Ren'Py games do not change the UI (main menu, choices, buttons, textboxes, etc) and it can sometimes take a person out of the game / experience
2: Music
- Not much of a musician, so we will not likely be doing the music in house. That means at this stage looking for some royalty-free music that isn't very ubiquitous.
3: Art
- Getting art was the nail in the coffin for the last projects. So this time we are prepared and looking towards AI with editing and/or hiring out a character designer / background designer.
- We want to have at least 2-3 characters with a solid art foundation and several poses / expressions with outfits before ANY kind of release
4: Gameplay Elements
- We want to be able to show off at least the basics of important gameplay elements.
- As a Rune Factory inspired game, we want to have several things that are present so people can understand the feel of the game.
- Planting, Watering, Tending, Harvesting crops
- Buying and selling things (economy)
- Moving townsfolk with set schedules (and area-specific interactions)
- Exploring dungeons
-There are several things you will NOT be seeing in gameplay in the beginning
- Combat
- Taming monsters to fight with or help on the farm
- Finalized pathing or full schedules for every hour of every day of the week
- Festivals and events
- Seasonal crops and fair economy.

~~~ What have we been doing? ~~~

These last few days have been quite a bit of work in getting some conversations done. The last few days we have done about 300 lines of "chatting" conversation, meaning just daily stuff with people. We have been focusing on Mist, the OG Rune Factory waifu!

For the first release (long ways away), we are planning that each time you talk with Mist, she will go through one of about 4 different topics, evolving when your relationship with her increases. As an example, the first chat might be about Turnips, and she tells you she really likes them. After you get a little closer to her, she will discuss a special kind of "long turnip" that she wants for... personal reasons... NOW: if you have progressed with her romantically, she SHOULD talk more openly about WHY she wants it, and after more relation, there may be a scene where you help her with a "long hard substitute".

In the future, we want to have more situational chatting dialogue with our heroines. For example, when she is at the park, say park-themed shit. At the hot springs, maybe she will instead talk about hot-spring related things. (maybe in addition to her "general topics". At the farmer's market, don't talk about how much she loves hot springs.

Don't worry about lack of topics yet, though. We have everything open to have more topics if it is getting too repetitive. And each topic(mostly) has a branch or two. There of course will also be "Heart Events" like the original game and other conversations happening with others. We want to make the characters feel real and evolved, which is difficult with an open-world game.

We are working on the relationship economy, as well. We want to balance the relaxing fun of Rune Factory and the idyllic farming lifestyle with seeing lots of poon tang (I assume that is the spelling.)
We don't want to have to grind for two hours to see someone's tits once, then another hour to touch them.
But we also don't want to throw someone into the world and immediately everyone is fine getting sexually assaulted. As that makes the characters seem... Different than what might be imagined.
Of course, we will have some characters a little more willing to get freaky, while others are a little more chaste and demure. But that's the juggling we will balance later.

~~ What kind of help do we need? ~~

Really open to any kinds of suggestions at this point. We want to make a game people enjoy with plenty of surprises, but at a reasonable scale. Any ideas for conversations with the first generation girls are what can be helpful at this stage. Or possibly easy-to-implement ideas can be nice, too.

Potential kinks and stuff:
+ Planning lots of casual exhibitionism and freeuse stuff
+ Light sub/dom stuff with different characters (nothing too much)
+ FFM threesomes and FFFFFFFFFFFFM orgies (eventually)
- NTR ain't ever gonna happen. MAYBE some girls playing around with each other without the MC, but nobody cucking anyone to any extent.
- Scat and Pee is not anything we are thinking about. Not our cup of proverbial tee.
- S&M beating, blood, whips, etc. Look elsewhere. Playful pats on the booty will probably happen to some characters.
-/+ Pregnancy content MIGHT happen in the future, but a LOOOOOOOOOOONG way off.

Have you considered Koikatsu models over AI art? When I think of Rune Factory, Koikatsu models (probably with some mods) would fit the aesthetic better than AI. Another bonus would be avoiding the kinds of comments that AI tends to bring. As far as I know, posing and animations would also be easier with Koikatsu.

Have you considered Koikatsu models over AI art? When I think of Rune Factory, Koikatsu models (probably with some mods) would fit the aesthetic better than AI. Hey fantasmic. Thank you for the comment and suggestion.
In the past, I have used Koikatsu, and I actually already have all the girls modeled in it. I'm not 100% happy with the overall look, but I think they definitely look like the characters. If you have played the games at all, maybe you can help be a judge if they would be sufficient? Would probably help as an intermediary until we can get an artist...

Echox2 I've only played the first two Rune Factory games waaaay back on the DS, so I can't give any exact feedback on the accuracy. You could look into some mods if you're not 100% on the models. I've seen some pretty good Koikatsu models, though I don't know how the creators really put them together. These should be fine, though they do feel a little... generically Koikatsu?

If this still going, I know someone who could do it in a jiffy.

Unfortunately though, when it comes to illustrating them, you probably need to find another person.
Since this guy I am talking about pretty much only improves on "creations & concepts", rather than the "artworks" itself.
