I'm not gonna go off and tell the site owners they're not allowed to back out at any time, but it seems like a total waste to not at least release the archives so people can have a fighting chance at continuing their legacy. They mention it's over 50 TB - but even ignoring that storage like that is actually achievable with modern seedboxes, all they really need to do is break it into 100 GB chunks and let some of their hundreds (probably thousands+, seriously) of users swarm all over it.

eh and ex were top tier sites. The galleries however are irreplaceable even beyond that.

This site was so big and no other site had the same quality content and no adds to boot, they have absolutely the right to be upset about it.

They have the right to be upset, yes. But they also should have the decency to shut it up.
They lost their source of porn, it's sad... but hey, Tenboro partially lost the usage of an arm, since there's now things that he can't effectively and easily do anymore.

That's just not the same thing at all, seeing as the site's database was created by the users/uploaders, not by tenboro. It'd be like the Library of Alexandria being stocked by patron submissions, then the current owner of the land saying "It's mine, bitches!" and setting the land ablaze.

If he needs to retire, go for it. But seeing as it's something made by others, give it back to them. Seed it, partition it off for transport/storage, let everyone there figure out what to do with it. He wasn't even going to tell people.

The only reason we even knew what was going to happen is because a lesser staffer dropped that it was going down.
