I've been following the development of this game for a while now,, it's been an incredible journey seeing it from when it's name was first revealed all the way to release.
Ideology In Friction was already an incredible groundbreaking game for the HRPG Market, and for the most part, ONEONE1 has done it again with Samurai Vandalism.
The Scenes are sexier than ever, and for the most part they made sure not to sacrifice quality for quantity, which given how all of the female characters, from the playable characters all the way to the villains have H-Scenes make it easy for you to pick a favorite and enjoy them slowly but surely succumbing to pleasure, until they have devolved from a powerful and strong warrior all the way to a desperate slut coated in cum who only wants to have sex and is willing to throw away human decency and their rights to get it.
The VA Work, much like Ideology In Friction, is top notch, there are no real weak links across the cast, which only adds to the eroticism of the scenes, as they squeal in pleasure and get more and more aroused at each insult thrown at them.
The routes themselves are distinct enough to justify multiple playthroughs, be it staying loyal to your cause and your fellow samurai group, abandoning them to fight side by side with your sister who you had longed presumed dead, or throwing both of those paths in the trash so you can forge your own sex filled path and not allow anyone to tell you what to do.
Now, for all the praises I give this game, it would be ignorant to not address the flaws the game does have, which mostly fall on the technical side of things, be it glitches, overall difficulty balance, how long the transition between scenes can take, and of course, how limited the multiple protagonists system sadly is, it's a great concept but there's definetly so much more you could do with it, as Mukuro gets most of the H-Scenes and Momo, Kinako and Mei get very little in comparison.
Overall however, it comes down to your own personal taste in HRPG's, are you willing to forgive technical issues and somewhat lackluster gameplay so you can enjoy the H-Scenes to their fullest or do you believe the gameplay of an H Game should add further to the experience?
Either way, Samurai Vandalism is one of my favorite HRPG's, and I believe ONEONE1 has a great future ahead of them as creators, I'm excited to see what they'll bring with their next games, and hopefully Kagura's official translation won't take long to be released!
